The End of a Species

Mushroom and Peppino got up and looked at each other with different expressions. Peppino had a face of anger and Mushroom had a face of confusion. 

Mushroom: Peppino, why do you look so enra-

Peppino: BACK OF PORTABELLA, DON'T YOU DARE TAKE AWAY MY TREASURE!

Mushroom was confused by what Peppino meant at first until she suddenly realized that he was talking about the treasure inside of the chest. Mushroom got up and told Peppino that she wasn't interested by the treasure inside of the chest. She also told him that she only wanted the Elyrtas inside of the ship. Peppino gladly gave her the Elytras within the ship itself. Mushroom put the Elytra on herself and gave one for Peppino to wear.

Mushroom told Peppino to take off his golden chestplate and put on the Elytra on the back. Peppino carefully put them on and looked at them from behind. They looked like those of a Ladybug's but instead the color was grey and had no white spots like that of a Ladybug's. Peppino looked at them and they touched them. The texture felt similar to those crocodile skinned boots and bag but with some leathery texture mixed in too.

Peppino wanted to ask Mushroom about the Elytra but he soon noticed her abscence. Peppino stepped outside and saw Mushroom holding something. Mushroom's expression was that of shock and horror because of what she was holding. Peppino went to her and tapped her on her shoulder. She turned and reavealed what she was holding: The Head of a Male Ender Dragon.

Peppino's eyes widened once he saw what Mushroom was holding. His face shown disgust and horror, his jaw dropped to the floor and he covered his mouth with his hands. Peppino approached Mushroom and took the head from her to get a better look at it. He looked at The Ender Dragon's decapitated head. The Eyes of the dragon looked dead at Peppino and yet they felt so lifeless while doing so. There wasn't any smell coming from the head at all, probably stuffed by the people who killed it.

Peppino's breathing got heavy and his hands were shaking. He was in absolute terror and digust by what he was holding.

Peppino: Mushroom.....don't tell me.....

Mushroom looked at Peppino and slowly nodded.

Peppino felt uneasy, felt like time was going slower and slower by the second, his vision was going blurry, he was gonna faint. Mushroom picked him up and took him back to the others urgently. 

Mushroom: Guys.... theres something I have to show you all...

Pineapple: What is it?

Mushroom: It was this..

Mushroom set down Peppino and pulled out The Male Ender Dragon Head. The others were in complete shock, their jaws dropped to the floor. Gustavo, Pineapple and Sausage felt shocked and digusted to an insane degree. They didn't wanna touch it at all, but Pineapple said one thing that meant something....

Pineapple: Thats the head of the male ender dragon......the horns are bigger and the eyes are violet color.......

Peppino: You don't think it could mean......

Pineapple: I think it does......

Peppino: No.....No it couldn't mean that, right? RIGHT?!

Pineapple wen silent as Peppino was questioning whether this was the previous ender dragon's mate. Peppino took the other Elytra's and gave them to the others immediately. As soon as they put them on, they all flew down to the portal that took them to where the female Ender Dragon was.

They got there as quick as possible. Those who were next to the dragon turned around and saw them holding the head of the male ender dragon. The weakened Ender Dragon that defeated by Peppino laid there and recognized the head of the dragon beind held.

The Dragon barely had any strength left in her and couldn't stand up properly. It took her 1 minutes and 35 seconds to get up and walk to Peppino. It look like it was about to fall several times. It finally got to Peppino and looked at the head in sadness. The dragon made low guttering noises as she looked at the head.

The dragon fell down and laid there. Mushroom noticed something in the distance: It was the dragon egg. Mushroom looked and picked it up. The dragon made a small roar as she look at Mushroom holding its child.

Mushroom: this....is your child?

The Ender Dragon nodded and took the egg out of her hands. The Dragon looked at the egg in sorrow, she knew she wasnt gonna be around to watch her child hatch. The dragon gave the egg back to Mushroom as a gift.

Mushroom was confused at first until she saw what was happening to the Dragon: She was withering away into ash. Mushroom's heart sank as she and the others saw the dragon wither away at a slow pace.

The Ender Dragon raised it head up and looked at its tail. Her tail was withering away into dust. Peppino saw this and looked in sorrow as the dragon was fading away from existence.

The Ender Dragon looked back at Peppino and smiled. Peppino could only look and feel bad, he didn't realize that the dragon was a mother and had a child of her own. The Dragon's body was 50% ash now.

With one last breath, The Ender Dragon said two words....

"Thank you...."

The Ender Dragon closed her eyes and all of her body was now turned into ashes. The ashes were swept away by the breeze, moving freely and into the sky. Peppino looked at the palm of his hands and saw one of the Dragon's ashes fall into his hands.

He felt guilty, he felt ashamed for his actions which he now regrets to this day, even after all of his adventures were over years after. He felt a tear come down his left eye as he thought to himself this one phrase....

"What have I done....."
