-Third Person POV-
[Earlier]
A student named Junpei Yoshino sat inside a theatre as there were a couple of guys sitting up near the front of the theatre. The guys were talking as Junpei was slightly annoyed he couldn't hear the movie.

Suddenly, Mahito appeared behind the boys as he told them to mind their manners. In an instant, Mahito's touch turned the boys into deformed creatures. Junpei saw the whole scene happen.

Leaving the building, Mahito was approached by Junpei. Mahito was shocked as he didn't know Junpei could see a curse like himself. Manito became intrigued even more once Junpei asked if he could do what Mahito did to those boys.

[Present]
Nanami and Yuji were talking as Nanami asked if Yuji could see the residuals of cursed energy.

"Nope, I don't see anything," Yuji said confidently.

Nanami quickly struck his confidence down, saying, "That's because you're not trying to see it. We actually witness curses everyday. If a cursed technique is activated, traces are left behind. We call them 'residuals.' However, residuals are weak compared to cursed spirits. Please concentrate and look harder."

Yuji concentrated harder at the scene before him as he saw residual footsteps. Yuji got excited, saying he could see the residuals.

"Of course. Sensing before seeing is standard for one who is capable."

Yuji sulked as he said to himself that Nanami could at least be a bit more encouraging like his sensei Gojo.

"I won't praise or insult you," Nanami stated. "I am here to identify the truth and uphold the law. There was a time when I thought society had the same goals. But that's a story for another time. Let's follow the trace."

"There wasn't anything caught on video right?" Yuji asked Nanami.

"Other than the victims, there was only one witness. A boy," Nanami explained.

"Could it be a cursed spirit?" Yuji asked.

"Most likely. Although it is possible that the boy could be responsible. The police are investigating where-"

Nanami was interrupted by what looked to be a cursed spirit. Yuji was getting into a fighting stance as Nanami told Yuji he would handle the supposed cursed spirit. However, he said Yuji could fight against the other supposed cursed spirit behind the wall they walked by.

"If you think you're in trouble, let me know," Nanami strictly said.

Yuji scoffed, "Have some faith in me will ya."

"It's not about faith. I'm an adult and you're a child. I have an obligation to look after you."

"A child?! I'd rather be underestimated!"

"You've survived multiple near-death experiences, but that does not make you an adult. Finding more and more stray hairs on your pillow than before, your local store no longer carrying your favourite bread, experiencing those losses is what helps you grow into adults," Nanami explained while revealing a wrapped up blunt sword.
