It's been two months since Brayden came to Georgia. He's cute, smart, loyal, funny, and has a great personality. Over these past months, Brayden has started to become my best friend, but part of me wants more than that. One day when were at the lunch table, Stacey was talking about how Taylor needs a boyfriend. But he said he couldn't find the right guy.

"What do you look for in a guy Amelia?" Taylor asked me.

I thought about it for a second. "He has to be funny, smart, cute, and like me for me."

"Okay, what about you Brayden?" Stacey asked.

Ohh, I see what they are doing. They ain't slick, I thought.

"She has to be nice, pretty, have a cute smile, and smart. I believe in building a friendship first before becoming lovers. It doesn't make any sense to hop into a relationship and say "I love you" without it having any meaning to it." he said while his eyes were glued to mine.

Out of my peripheral vision, I saw Stacey and Taylor looking back and fourth at us.

We were back at lunch again and somehow the conversation turned on me and my outfit of choice.

"Why do you choose to wear baggy clothes?" Brayden asked me.

"Because it's comfortable." I lied.

I guess he heard the false note in my voice because he looked at me funny.

"Can I get a real reason?" he asked.

I looked at Taylor and Stacey for an answer.

"Umm, let's just say there was this duchebag and he was and still is a jerk-off." Taylor said.

"....Okay then." Brayden said.

Just to fill you in, his name is Jonathan Wheeler. He is a jock; plays football and basketball. I should have said no when he asked me out junior year but for some reason I said yes. But then I asked myself "Why would someone like him go out with someone like me?" And then about a couple of weeks in, it was just a bet with his friends. I didn't mean anything to him. I also found out that he was cheating on me so I let him go. Everything went downhill from there. He made me feel like nothing and I didn't think I was pretty anyway so I just decided not to even try anymore.

"I have an idea. If you wear your nice clothes for one week straight, you'll get a surprise. And I mean, actually try and make sure everything matches and what not." Brayden offered.

"From who?" I asked.

"Me." he said.

"What's the surprise?"

"You'll have to wear the clothes for a week to find out."

"That's a nice bet. I should've of thought of that. Anyway, it's going to start next week on Monday. So you'll have the weekend to pick our your clothes for that week." Taylor said. "And I'll be at your house on Saturday to help you."

"No way. I'm going to do this on my own. I wanna find out what the surprise is and have bragging rights on how good my outfits look." I said, taking a glance at Brayden.

He smiled. After lunch we went back to class. The classes passed by in a blur. Before I knew it, I was walking toward my car.

When I pulled in my driveway, my mom's car was there. That was a first. Usually she's not back home 'til around 10 p.m.. I walked in home to find her asleep on the couch. I pulled a blanket that was on her around her shoulders. I knew she wouldn't be up for a while.
