After ages of waiting mum finally peeks her head around the bush and strolls towards the car, she seems happier than when she entered the house so something must have gone good. Mum opens the car door and giggles to herself, then out of no where she makes a weird hand gesture, as if to say come here and almost instantly a sharply dressed man in a suit comes out of the bushes carrying a brief case and a large tesco carrier bag. I can't help but think to myself how interesting but serious this man looks.
Mum hops out of the car AGAIN and greets the man, but this time with a hug and a cheeky kiss on the cheek. I can't help but think am I missing something, they have to be together, but mum would never keep something like this from me. The car door opens and startles me, the man laughs and gets in the car, and mum sits in the drivers seat. "Hello clove" the man whispers. I break in to a long stare trying to figure out what his story is and finally I say "and who are you and how do you know me?"
"Well it would be strange if I didn't know you" the man says and breaks into a laughing fit.
"This is mark, my partner" mum says
"Oh so it's business" I blurt out
"Not quite, you see me and your mum are in love" says the man. Right there and then I wish the seat would swallow me whole and never ever spit me back out!!! This was going to be a long and torturous car ride to town.
