The Bloodrose family was filled with mysteries. The disappearance of Damien Bloodrose had everyone questioning whether the angelic vampire was roped into something evil. Damien vanished into thin air one week after Scarlett's 14th birthday. It was tragedy for the town of Cherry Springs, Pennsylvania. It wasn't hard to see why. Damien was an angel sent from above. He cared and loved for everyone, even the ones who hated and threatened him. He had the sweetest soul ever but he had a dark secret. Every good person did...

Every night, before bed in the Bloodrose resident when the young Bloodrose kids' parents had disappeared into the night to god-knows-where, Damien would enter his younger sister's bedroom. He would walk in wearing the same silk shirt with his plaid pajama bottoms. Scarlett would be laying in bed, watching the last few minutes of her favorite show when a slap was heard.

Damien's powerful hand left huge red marks on the bare skin of Scarlett's back and collarbone. Scarlett screamed in pain, falling off her bed, every time. It went on like this, their parents leaving for 2 hours, 1 hour spent with Damien slapping the living shit out of his baby sister.

One night, the siblings hadn't expected their parents to come home earlier than normal and they walked in to witness the horrific sight. Damien stood hovering over his sister who was curled into a ball as she protected her head from his powerful slaps of rage. Emily Bloodrose stepped forward towards her daughter, pulling her away carefully as Ivan Bloodrose yanked his son's collar, dragging him out the bedroom and into the hallway as he pushed him against the wall.

Scarlett's sobs and wails of pain were heard in the echo's of her bedroom as her mother cradled her in her lap, rubbing her back in a soothing manner only to pull away when Scarlett winced in pain. Curious, the older woman lifted her daughter's shirt up to see the unbelievable amounts of red marks covering her back with dark red scars and scratches. She was horrified at the sight and all she could do was be there for her daughter like the good mother she was.

Ivan Bloodrose threw his son on the ground outside, a frustrated look on his face as Damien looked up at him. "I told you to finish the job tonight and stage it right."

"You didn't tell me you'd be home early!" Damien complained as he stood up. Ivan stared at him before he grabbed him, getting so close to his face his warm breath swayed between the father and son in the cold breeze.

"I tried. Your mother is stubborn." He whispered harshly as he looked at him with a rage filled look in his eyes. "I wanted her gone, dead. Damien... I told you what would happen if you didn't."

A few days pass, celebrating Scarlett's birthday in a flash and then, one week passed. That's when it happened. Her older brothers disappearance. Now, most suspected he just ran away or was out helping out some other person because he was that nice. Scarlett didn't know it at first but the murderer had been under her nose the whole time. The only reason she found out was when she walked into the basement of her mansion, seeing her brothers bloody and dead body hung on the wall with his eyes carved out of his head, stakes driven in almost every limb he had. She screamed. Ivan Bloodrose came running in, shoving her against the wall as he prepared to do the same exact thing until Emily stepped in, sinking a knife right through his neck which made him stumble back.

That night still haunted Scarlett. She was 14 when it happened. She could still see her brother's body in her nightmares. It haunted her. Soon after, Emily made the better decision to move away as she left Ivan alone with his rage, dragging her daughter out of the mess to move to Jericho. Where Scarlett was sent to Nevermore.

No one knew anything of the Bloodrose family's past or present. Or anything in general. And it was best to keep it that way, that's why Scarlett told no one. Not even Enid. So when the sheriff would ask of her brother, he only knew of the fake sob story that was created about her brother being burned at the stake.

If only they knew...
