Eddie's POV
I didn't want her to leave. I wanted her to stay here. With me. I just can't stand to be alone. But I wanted her to be happy. I wanted her to live her life happy.

"What will it be, darling?"I ask.

She looks at the exit. Then back at me. Then at the exit. And then back at me.

"By the time you go through that exit, you'll wake up in the real and there will be no more nightmares when you go to sleep."

"I... I don't know..."She says.

Claire's POV
"By the time you go through that exit, you'll wake up in the real world and there will be no more nightmares when you go to sleep."

"I... I don't know..."I said. I couldn't choose.

What I don't want dreams like this though. I want happy ones...

"I can't choose..."I said sadly leaning against the wall and sliding down onto the floor and pulled my knees to my chest.

I felt Eddie put an arm around my shoulders. And rub my arm.

"Go."He says.

"What?"

"Go. Leave me."

"But.....Bu-"I was cut off by Eddie's kiss. He kissed me softly and gently. When we parted, he stroked my cheek with the back of his hand. He tried his best to give a comforting grin.

Eddie got up on his feet, took me by the hand and helped me up.

"Are you s-sure?"I ask. I didn't want to leave Eddie by himself. He looked at me and just grinned. But I could tell in his eyes that he was disappointed. But kept smiling.

"I-I'm sure, darling. I just want you to be happy."

"But... But I am happy, Eddie."I say sadly.

"No. You're not."

"But I am."

"Claire,"he says holding onto my arm,"I'm part of your mind. I'm part of your imagination. I'm part of your nightmares. I know how you really feel. Your sad and lonely inside. You just think you're happy even though you're not."

He was right. Ever since John. I've been miserable and alone.

"But now I am. With you."

"And when you wake up? Who's there?"

No one....

"No one..."

"Exactly. I want you to be happy. I want you move on. With someone that will make you happy."

"But... But..."I tried to find another excuse but couldn't.

"Go..."Eddie says stroking my cheek. He kisses me again. When our lips separate, his eyes are gentle and sad.

"Okay?"He asks softly. I nod my head.

We go to the exit and he takes one last look at me and smiles,"Goodbye, darling."

"Goodbye, Eddie."

We both smile sadly and Eddie pushes me through the exit. The last thing I hear him say was,"Don't forget me." Everything went bright.

"-gasp-"I spring awake in my bed. I was still wearing my wedding dress, my hair was still in a bun, and the bit of makeup was also still on. It was 3 in the morning.

"Man, that was weird. How am I still in my wedding dress? And how did I get from my sofa to my bed? And I just started sleeping at 5:50 in the afternoon... Didn't even eat dinner... And... The wedding ring is still on..."

The only thing I have left of Eddie was the ring. Along with the dress. I take the ring off and place it on the nightstand. Tomorrow I was going to the washers and clean my dress. And I will never forget Eddie. And would never forget our marriage. No one was ever like Eddie. He was perfect.

Eddie's POV
She was gone. Now sooner or later, everything will disappear and be forgotten deeper in her head. And so will I.

I go back down to the. And undid my bow tie. And sat on the floor beside my buzz saw table. I pick up a red rose and held it in my hand. I was waiting. But didn't know what I was waiting for.

What am I doing?

I ask myself that question a few times and remembered what I was waiting for.

Oh yeah. Waiting to be forgotten.

I breath a heavy sigh. I fiddled with the rose in my hand. It was quiet. I was sitting there in total silence. I was alone. But somehow, happy.

Why am I happy? Why do I feel so good of myself?

Most times, I can't stand to be alone. But I felt good that I was alone. I didn't know why. As I look at the rose, Claire came to mind. I just let her go. Just so she could be happy. She needed someone to love her when I'm not there. She needed to be happy with someone else. Now I knew why I felt so good of myself.

When she's happy. I'm happy.

I smile to myself. Then pieces of the scene started to fall. Piece by piece.

She's starting to forget.

The scene starts to fall around me. When everything fell. I'm just left on this one piece of the floor left. I quickly stand up and look around. It was just a blank white space. The flooring started to crack.

It's over....

I look at the rose again and smiled.

"I want her to be happy..."I whisper to myself. I held the rose close to my chest and closed my eyes as the floor broke. Starting at my feet started to disappear. Then up to my knees, then my waist.

"I.... Want.... Claire.... To be.... Happy...."I whisper. Then the rose disappears. Then I disappear. With a happy smile.

*There we go. It was difficult to come up with a sad but good ending but here it is. I know it's probably shitty but I think the Extended (or alternative) Ending would be even more crappy. This was pretty short. And I think the extended (or alternative) ending is also going to be short. But here goes nothing...*
