The only reason Dan Feng visited the dark realm was for political reasons. The Xianzhou had suffered from a lot of attacks from the ghosts and demons lately, and their so-called leader wasn't responding to any of the
sent letters.

Dan Feng, as the crowned Prince of the Xianzhou, decided it'd best if he went there himself to have a talk with the man. Jing Yuan was against that idea. He was willing to go there instead but Dan Feng refused as it would be "unprofessional" and used the excuse that someone responsible has to stay on the Xianzhou while he's gone. Jing Yuan was left with no choice and Dan Feng left the day after.

The path there was nothing like Dan Feng expected. Once he set a foot in the dark realm, there was no one. Not a single soul in sight. Every book he had ever read, every story he has ever heard was saying that there are ghost knights waiting at the entrance stopping anyone from entering. But there was nothing.

As he made his way deeper into the realm a feeling of uneasiness started burning inside him. Dan Feng was sure there was someone behind him. He could hear the steps of the other person. As he summoned his spear and turned around, ready for attack, he was met again with nothing.
Had his ears deceived him?

With a frown, Dan Feng continued on the journey. There was a big palace in sight, but it was still quite far, and to reach it, Dan Feng had to pass
through a forest. It didn't seem like a problem. Not until he entered it. As soon as he did, a sudden cold wind started blowing from all directions. Dan Feng didn't stop, but very soon he felt even more uneasy than when he entered the realm. It felt like someone was watching him. He was covered in cold sweat as he hurriedly made his way through the forest.

Dan Feng wasn't used to the dark atmosphere and being there only for a few hours seemed like weeks to him. A sigh of relief left his lungs as soon as he was in front of the palace. There were small houses around it. Nothing like the ones in the Xianzhou. There was light coming from some of them but no sound or signs of life.

The door of the palace creaked as Dan Feng pushed it open. It was an unpleasant sound, but not more than the scent that came from inside. Dan Feng frowned, but still made his way inside.

"Hello?" The echo made it seem like he shouted. "Is anyone here?" There was no response.

Dan Feng walked to what seemed like a throne. Suddenly the door of the palace shut close with a loud bang, making Dan Feng's breath hitch. He was frozen in place, his heart beating like crazy and his hands sweating. There was no logical explanation for it. It couldn't have been a wind current. The wind stopped blowing as soon as he entered the city and even now, while he was in the palace, he couldn't feel any wind. The door was big and metal. If there was any wind, it would have to be very strong to be able to close it.

Someone else must be here, Dan Feng thought, but there was were no signs of life. For the first time in years, the crowned Prince felt real fear like never before. It was minutes later when he realized he wasn't just frozen from fear. Something was holding him still and he couldn't move an inch. Suddenly Dan Feng felt even more anxious. Looking down, he noticed white smoke. It was so thick he couldn't even see his feet. The smoke wasn't there when he entered. Before he could think of a way to get himself out of this situation, Dan Feng suddenly felt a hand on his mouth. His eyes widened and he tried to fight back, but his wrist was caught and his vision became blurry. It felt like all of his strength had instantly disappeared and he collapsed on the floor.

Dan Feng woke up in a dark room with a gasp. With his vision still blurry, he couldn't make out where he was or what was going on. His hand moved to rub his eye but then there was a loud sound of chains. Dan Feng frowned. His vision finally cleared somewhat, and he was shocked to realise he was the one chained. Before he could react, there was a creaking sound of a door opening.
