The next day Dan Feng woke up in the same position we fell asleep in. He was facing the wall next to the bed so he couldn't tell if his, now husband, was there with him or not.
After a few minutes of not moving Dan Feng came to the conclusion that he was alone. There were no signs of anyone else in the room. He turned around and to his relief the space next to him was empty.
The table in the middle of the room had steaming hot food on it. Dan Feng sighed as he realised it was only rice and beans. He looked around finding no signs of Ren in the room but he spotted his own clothes washed and folded on the couch.
Dan Feng quickly changed out of the wedding robes and stepped outside, not bothering to look at the food again. "If he thinks I'm going to stay closed all day, he's very wrong." He thought, as he made his way through the dead garden.
Following the path they walked the night before, Dan Feng found himself surrounded by ghosts and demons. As soon as they saw him, they would smile at him.
He didn't want to seem suspicious so he slowed down the speed he was walking with. He couldn't help but notice how lively the place was compared to the day he arrived there. It was nothing like what he had imagined demonic creatures would act like with each other. If it wasn't for their appearance, Dan Feng wouldn't be able to tell them apart from human beings.
"Going somewhere?"
Dan Feng froze in place and looked at the man in front of him. "Can I not?"
Ren chuckled. "You can. But I can't leave you wandering the place all by yourself."
"Scared I'll run away?" Dan Feng asked his lips curling into a smile as he kept his eyes locked with the other.
A small smile made its way on Ren's face. "I doubt you'll be able to do that. If anything, I'd say I'm afraid you'll get lost."
Dan Feng huffed but he had a point. He needed someone to show him around before he made a plan of escape and put it into action. "Show me around then."
"So eager." Ren looked at him head to toe. "Did you eat the food left for you on the table?"
Dan Feng opened his mouth to answer but closed it right after. Behind Ren there was something that caught his eye. "What's that?"
"Hm?" Ren turned around to see what he was talking about. There was a big crowd surrounding something that neither him or Dan Feng could see.
Ren made his way over and Dan Feng followed behind him. The demonic creatures quickly moved out of their way without any words exchanged. Dan Feng peeked from over Ren's shoulder to find out that the thing they had surrounded was just a small flower that's happened to grow in the gap of the beaten path.
Dan Feng sighed somewhat disappointed. It looked more like a weed people would pluck out of their gardens than an actual flower. What actually surprised him was how amazed the crowd of demonic creatures was.
In the silence there was suddenly a shout. "It's thanks to our lord's new husband that flowers are finally able to blosom here!"
Dan Feng was taken aback. What did his appearance here have to do with anything considering nature? But all of a sudden all eyes were on him. Not just the ones of the demonic creatures, but the demon lord's as well. Dan Feng gulped feeling a wave of anxiety as the crowd surrounded him, giving him little to no space.
He was now flooded with questions. "My lord, how did you do it?" "My lord, can you make the flowers in my garden blosom too?" "My lord, can you make the crops grow?" Dan Feng felt overwhelmed with not just their questions but their smell and appearance.
