Breathe and Take it Slow

At this point in our life, being a 25 year old seems to be a critical period for most of us. This is the moment where we tend to crave more achievements in a short period of time. More dreams and goals are surfacing along with the pressure that life puts on our shoulder. We only spent twenty five years of existence as of this moment but for some reason, it feels like we are running out of time. We want to see results fast, we want to climb the ladder as soon as possible. We want to prove something with the shortest amount of time. It feels a lot. It feels heavy. Why? Maybe it's because it is not us who are running out of time. Maybe it's for the people important to us. The saddest realization is that no person is permanent in this world. The time left to be spent with the important people in our lives is uncertain.

Our family, our parents for instance, provided for us until we reach this point of our life where we can already provide for ourselves. This is the time that we can manage on our own without their supervision. But you know what? The heartbreaking part is that they are growing old. As the numbers of our existence increases, theirs too increases but at the same time, the time left with them decreases. That is the reality. That is the sad truth we need to accept. And maybe this is why we feel the urge to accomplish everything as soon as possible. Without brakes, without rest. We want to repay their sacrifices and give them all the best they couldn't have when they were younger before everything was too late.

With all this chaos, we tend to forget that we also have our own life. It feels like we are running a marathon without any breaks in between, no time for rest, no time to breathe. The truth is, we need to take it slow. The longer you run a marathon without any rest, the faster you become tired, breathless. There's nothing wrong with taking one step at a time. Small steps. The faster you run without any rest, the more restless and careless you become. We cannot climb a high mountain without taking our time to train, to prepare, and to watch our steps. All I can say is that, we are only at our 25 years of our existence. We are just starting to explore life, to explore the world. You might probably feel lost at times but it is normal. It is natural. Whatever you are aiming for, you are running for, you are chasing for, trust that you will get there. Always remember that you are already at the 25th mark of your path, you cannot afford to waste all your energy until the 30th, or 40th only. Take it slow. Everything might seem to be so distant but you will get there. Breathe.
