"there's nowhere for you to run now baby"

They stood there in awkward silence until Bryson spoke up.

"Um, are you gonna let me in?" He said with a small laugh.

"Yeah, yeah! Sorry, come in" Melanie said as she nervously tucked her hair behind her ear.

They sat down and Bryson surveyed the room before speaking up

"It looks nice in here, very cozy. Very... you." He said as he met her eyes.

"Thanks, I tried to make the best out of it. College dorms can be a bit depressing if you let them. I'm actually working on get an off campus apartment." He admired her as she spoke, she was always so passionate. That was one of the things he loved about her

She went to speak again but before she could get the words out of her mouth, Bryson cut her off.

"I love you Melanie. And I know you said you're with someone and I don't want to be disrespectful or anything just need you to understand how I feel about you. I am madly in love with you Melanie. I always have been..." He never looked away from her and she didn't either. She wasted no time replying.

"I love you too Bryson. You know that. My feelings have never changed. But do you really think this could work? I'm in LA and you're still in New York. Your whole life is about to change and I still have 3 years left of school. I just don't want to jump into something that we're not ready for." She tried holding back tears but eventually one came rolling down her cheek. Bryson quickly pulled her into his chest and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"I'm willing to work for it. Because you're all I want. I'm not happy when I'm not with you Melanie." He placed his hand on her chin making her look up at him.

They stared into each other eyes as he slowly leaned in and softly placed his lips on hers. They kissed each other softly, but there was so much passion behind it. She pulled away and looked at him again.

"Okay. But I'm not ready to make things official yet. Let's just test the waters okay?" A smile slowly formed on his face before he placed kisses all over her face as they fell back onto the bed

"I love you Mel" he said once she stopped laughing

"I love you too Bry" They just laid there in a comfortable silence until Melanie eventually fell asleep. He admired her while she slept, feeling like he was whole again. And he couldn't be happier.
