Lake could feel someone shaking her and she opened her eyes to see Julia smiling at her.
"We're at the reservation" she whispered
Lake looked out the window and was greeted by the sight of a large house and the woods. The front door opened and a man in a wheelchair came out. Julia opened her door and climbed out.
She went over and greeted the man.
She talked for a bit before gesturing for Lake to come out.
The young woman opened her door and stepped out. The old man smiled at her and reached his hands out to her. She made her way over and slid her hands into his.
"It's nice to meet you, Lake. I'm Billy Black"
Lake smiled "It's nice to meet you too, Billy"
"Elder Nita told me all about you. I'm sorry about what your parents did to you"
The girl simply shook her head
"It's in the past now. I was raised by wonderful people" she grinned happily
She leaned down and hugged him tightly. Billy chuckled and returned the embrace. He could already tell that this beautiful child would make things much more interesting on their land.
After Lake had gotten settled in and said her goodbyes to Julia, she went exploring around the land. During this time, Billy was speaking with Sam Uley and his girlfriend Emily.
"So you're telling me that Charlie and his ex wife threw her away?!"
"Yes. They only wanted Bella. So Renee sent her off, not knowing or caring what would happen"
Sam shook his head in disgust. Charlie was a respected cop here in Forks. And to hear what he and his wife did to their child? It made him sick! But at least she grew up with loving people and had been raised into a wonderful young woman, from what Billy had heard from Julia.
"I'd like to see her, if that's alright" he said
Billy nodded. Just then, three other boys came into the kitchen. Paul and Jared.
"Who are you going to see?" Paul questioned
"We have someone new living here now. She just got here from the Amazon"
Jared grew curious "The Amazon? As in the jungle Amazon?"
"Yep" Billy chuckled
"Would you like to meet her?"
The boys nodded, eager to meet this new person.
"Follow me. She's out in the backyard"
Billy wheeled himself through the house with the others following him. He led them to the back door and had Sam open it. Once they were out, Billy had Sam wheel him a little ways into the woods until he told him to stop.
He gestured for them to be quiet and pointed in front of them.
They were stunned at the sight.
A few feet away was Lake. She was laying peacefully on the grass with small birds and butterflies around her
