It had been a week since Lake had moved to La Push with her new family.

And a week since Dalton learned about Lake.

Every night he went to sleep, he "traveled" out of his body, hoping to find her. Normally, he would be worried about leaving his body vulnerable to evil spirits, but his body developed an immunity to possession

He still couldn't forgive what the Swan family had done to their child.

They just tossed her out because they had only wanted Bella

He himself would've given anything to have his family back.

To him, family was everything.

Lake had just finished up the last of her homework and turned it in online.

Sam had set her up to be home schooled.

And she was doing extremely well.

She had done a week's worth of school in just 2 days and now she just had to turn it in online and in person. It wouldn't be too difficult since she was studying at La Push high school.

"Dad" she called to Sam

"Yes, pup?" he came outside and looked up at the roof where she was sitting.

"I'm all finished"

She put her papers into her binder and put it in her bag with her laptop, grabbed her bow and gracefully jumped down from the roof.

"Good. All set for patrols?" he asked as she handed him her bag

"Yeah. I thought I'd check the ocean, too. Just to be safe"

Her dad nodded "Smart. We never know what could be down there"

Sometime after she moved there, the Elders had her join the pack and gave her the honorary tribe tattoo. Since they learned she wasn't entirely human, she was allowed to partake in patrols.

They had learned she was a feline shifter. Or in other words, a panther shifter. So they wouldn't have to worry too much.

"While I'm out, I might as well see what I can catch for dinner"

Hugging her father one last time, she took off towards the woods with her "brothers"

Lake had finished scouting scouting and told her dad and the boys through their link that she hadn't found any trouble so far.
