Advice from an idol

Ruby's POV:
I have to meet up with melt in a couple hours. I should go get ready.
—skip to after she gets ready—
I think this is good enough for a normal hangout!
I head out the door and go to the place I'm supposed to meet melt at.

I got to the park and sat down on one of the benches while I waited for melt. After a few minutes I saw him walking in my direction. I waved and smiled at him and he did the same.

"Hey!" "Hey, was I late?" I shook my head at his question. "Nope! I just came a few minutes early so don't worry." He nodded before sitting down next to me. "How have you been?" "I've been great! You?" "Me too." We sat in an awkward silence for a few minutes. What are we supposed to talk about? This hangout was supposed to help us get to know each other better right? Should I ask him something?

"So.. do you have any siblings?" That's the first question I could come up. It's always easy talking about siblings, right? I'm not too sure. He looks towards me before replying, "Yeah , I have a younger sister that's five. Her name is Kaede." "What a pretty name , I bet she's adorable!" He smiled as he took out his phone. He scrolled through his camera roll a bit before stopping on a photo of a little girl with dirty blonde hair and purple-pinkish eyes. They don't look alike, is she adopted or does she take more of one parent's genes while he has the other parent's? That sounds rude. "You're probably wondering why we look nothing alike, right?" Woah! Did he read my mind? "Ha, well a few years ago my mom started dating this guy with a one year old daughter, they got married last year so she's my stepsister now. I still love her as if she was my own biological sister though." I smile at his statement. I wish my mother and father in my past life smiled like that when they spoke about me... stop it Ruby!This is about Melt , not you!

"That makes sense. You saved me from asking an awkward question.." He began to laugh at my statement. "So um, what's she like? Does she like anything?" He stopped to think. "I think she likes the piano. She never says much about it but, whenever mom and dad watch tv and a piano comes on, she has the biggest smile and devotes all of her attention to the tv and mimics the person playing the piano. I might talk to my parents about it soon actually." That's so cute. I want a little sister or brother! Too bad I only got Aqua and his bored expressions.

"She's a kind girl as well, she always tries to help us with what we're doing. Anyways, what about you? Is Aqua you're only sibling?" "I mean yeah I believe so. Unfortunately.." I'm kidding about the unfortunately, I love my brother. He's a pain in the neck though, he probably thinks the same thing about me. "What do you mean by 'I believe so'?" Oh that. Rigggght. "Well my father was never exactly around so I don't know much about him. To me, he is just the sperm donor. I wouldn't exactly be surprised if I had some secret brother or sister. It doesn't really matter though since I'll probably never meet them." He stared at me with a bewildered but amused look on his face before he laughed. Hm? What's so funny?

"I'm- I'm sorry for laughing." But you're still laughing... I was being serious. Oh well. "So how's having Aqua as a brother?" Oh, he finally stopped laughing. "Depends on what version you're gonna get of him that day. He's either consistently gloomy, slightly happy but won't show it, or being overly protective. I need him to act normal for once! Once that happens I will have officially seen it all." "That sounds... fun." Funny joke he made. "Still.. even so, he's still my ugly brother and I love him." I'm such a kind and considerate sister! He won't find anyone better than me.
