The City of Tristen wasn't the most peaceful city, but certainly not the most crime ridden.
You were their hero, they trusted you to keep the Villains at bay. Ever since the Battle of 2008, you've been their official Hero.
You wake up in your house, you're not rich, just normal. The way you fight crime is with gadgets. And you have plenty of those.
You go downstairs and grab some coffee and turn on the Local News station, the TCN (Tristen City News).
You didn't really pay much attention to the news most of the time, mostly just used it as background noise, and would sometimes tune into what's happening. You read your favorite book over to pass the time by quickly. After a few hours pass by, you set your book down, turn off the news. And put your hero suit on.
You patrol the skylines in the day, and sometimes in the night for any villains. Usually the cops deal with the basic criminals, like burglars, robbers, that stuff. And you'd help them if they needed it.
You checked the area near the jewelry store, and sure enough. People were robbing it, but it seemed off, the criminals guarding the outside area wore skull masks and were heavily armed.
It must be ties to the Mobster known as Skoll. You thought, you decided to sneak through the back entry way, only defeating a few armed criminals.
As you made your way through, you heard some talking.
"You think this'll be enough?" One voice said
"This'll surely be enough, and we might even have enough to give to ourselves." Another voice said.
You sneak up to them. They notice you and begin firing their guns.
"Holy crap it's the Hero!" One of them said. You ducked behind cover and grapple hooked one of them in the leg and pulled them towards you. You then grabbed his body and launched it at the other person. When they both got up you slammed their heads together, knocking them out.
You reach the vault and see Skoll, an infamous Mobster who runs the Skeleton mob. He wore Military uniform and a skull mask.
"So, you're the Hero I heard about?" Skoll asked, not seeming intimidated by you. "I wonder if you're as strong as they say, I mean, after the battle of 2008, you must be a tough cookie."
You swing your fist at him, who grabbed it with his one hand, "maybe not." He swung you upside down on your back, "This is too easy to be the Hero I heard so much about." He aimed his rifle at you, and shot.
Luckily you rolled out of the way just in time, you swept him of his feet and on the ground. You took his rifle away as you picked him up by his collar and slammed his body too the wall. He punched you, freeing himself from your grasp, as he kicks you in the stomach, bringing you down a bit where he uppercut your head. You fell backwards, but got right back up and launched yourself at him, pinning him down to where he can't move, he struggled a bit before you head butted him, knocking him out.
The Cops arrived just in time and took the criminals and Skoll to prison.
Officer Smith, who wore the standard dark blue cop uniform with mustache and glasses, walked up to you.
"Good job there, hero. You did well." Smith said,
"Someone's gotta keep the Villains from roaming loose." You say, Smith smiles,
"Welp, see you around. Bowling tonight, remember?" Smith said, walking back to his car. He always knew your secret identity, in fact, he is one of three people who know of your identity.
"Yep, see you there." You said, standing there, watching the cop cars and vans drive away.
You decide to head home for the time.
As you get to the front door of your house, there's a paper that's taped to the door.
'Play the Game, and you may win, refuse to Play, and you'll lose.' It was an ominous message, so you decide to keep the paper and hope nothing bad will happen.
For the remainder of the day, you hung around your house not doing much.
It was 7:30pm, it was time to go to the bowling alley, where you and your buddies bowl.
It was a strange day, and the days will only get stranger for you.
