~ Black*Star P.O.V ~

I was walking down the street to a bar that Soul said there was going to be free drinks. I couldn't decline, I mean come on who would decline that. Plus, it was my birthday, and not one person said anything about it. I am the big star in school everyone should know when my birthday is! I would also expect my friends to know about my birthday, especially my best friends. But, you know what, whatever I'll celebrate it at the bar and no one has to say anything.

When I got to the bar I noticed that all the lights were out. Was it closed? No it won't be closed, the night just started. I went over to the door and opened it. Well the doors unlocked, so why are the lights off? I stepped in and my questions were answered as the lights suddenly shot on.

"SURPRISE!" All my friends shouted.

Soul patted me on the back. "Dude, you should see the look on your face!" He smiled, showing off his teeth.

I punched Soul on the shoulder. "Not funny you idiot."

"What? We couldn't let you know that we were throwing a surprise party for you."

"I thought you guys forgot my birthday!"

Maka looked at me like I was crazy. "We wouldn't forget your birthday. Sure, you're annoying sometimes, but you're still our friend."

I completely ignored the part where she called me annoying. Maka was actually being nice to me? I have the right Maka Albarn, right?

Tsubaki set a box on the counter. "Happy birthday Black*Star!"

I walked over to the box. Inside it was a HUGE cake. It had my signature on it.

"Woah, did you make this, Tsubaki?"

"Yep. Kid helped me."

I could tell. Everything about the cake was neat and orderly. I chuckled before I came to a realization.

"Hey, where is Kid anyway?"

Liz and Patty exchanged smirks.

Liz turned to Black*Star. "He said he was getting your present ready, and that he'd be here soon.

Patty giggled.

Should I be worried? Nah, I'm sure I'll be fine...maybe.

After about thirty minutes, Kid walked in with a bag.

"Sorry I'm late everyone. I was running a little behind."

"Hey Kid!" I said. I walked over to him and put my arm around him. "Hey, what's in the bag?"

"Your present." He said, handing it to me.

"Sweet. Thanks Kid!" I pecked him on the nose.

Before I opened it, I took time to admire the wrapping. Kid made the ribbon perfectly symmetrical, of course. After a smile of approval from Kid, I ripped open the package. Inside was a picture of us. It was when I took Kid to a festival a few months ago.

I hugged his shoulder tighter. "Thanks again, Kid. This is great."

Kid smiled at me. "Don't mention it. Besides..." He changed his tone and body language to seductive. "Your other present is at my house."

I blushed. "Huh?"

"You'll see." He winked at me and went to socialize with the others.

The rest of the night I wondered what Kid was planning.
