"We don't want to impose so we will sleep downstairs on the couch." Sitting on my bed I pulled my shoes off and stood up heading to my closet feeling guilt swelling up in my chest. It felt unbearable being apart from them now for some reason and I didn't want them to leave me even for a second. "Wait can we just sit down and talk for a bit? I'm not sleepy and I want to get to know you better." Putting the shoes in my closet I gave them a meek smile before walking over and sitting on a chair in my room. Seeing them look at me in shock before looking at each other and quickly heading over sitting down on the couch in front of me. "We will tell you anything you want to know, just ask." Knox smiled adjusting his pants so they weren't tight around his hips and thighs. "How was life over there in your world?" Bending my knees and tucking my feet under me I settled into the chair looking at them curiously. "It was fairly easy before our mother died and father got so obsessed with trying to get revenge. You see when your instructor Mintz came over into your world it wasn't the first time. Our mother was a researcher under the first Queens rule and developed a small device that allowed her to come here. We were five at the time and all we remember was father screaming at the door of our home. In front of us he held our mothers bloody body to him as he cried before screaming at us to go to our rooms. Later when we were old enough to understand he told us she was injured because the humans feared her for being unnatural. We couldn't do much after that just get stronger under his constant training and when the Queen was killed he took control and everything went out of balance. At the time we were seventeen and had no choice but to do what he ordered us until we found out he was planning to destroy your world. We rebelled but he used his magic to manipulate us into bringing our troops over to fight in the human world. Trust us if we had a choice we wouldn't have done what we did, his way of thinking is wrong." Atticus said looking at the ground sadly as my heart tightened in my chest hearing how the humans caused his father enough pain to take action. "Although I can't take back what my kind did I just want to let you know that I am so sorry for what we did to you." With tear filled eyes I couldn't help but feel disgusted to call myself a human after what we did to their mother. If that didn't happen we would've lived alongside each other in unknowing coexistence and both Atticus and Knox would have both their parents and a mate in their world. They wouldn't have to suffer for anything and could live their lives happily. "It's not your worlds fault who we are what we can do is scary compared to humans. At first we felt rage but after learning from my mothers letters from the time she was in your world we get it. Humans are weak and fear something stronger than them even she too felt no resentment after they wounded her. It took years to understand her way of thinking toward your kind but we see it now. You try to survive just like we do, developing new technology to make daily life easier just like we do. Our father doesn't see that but we do and so do many of our kind who have been in hiding in our world so they wouldn't have to fight. Many of our kind wish to live in peace but thousands of other wish for vengeance and that's why they fight under our fathers orders." Nodding softly I slowly stood up and walked around the table stopping in front if them. Sitting down on the cool glass top table I reached out and pulled them into a tight hug as tears slid down my face. "I'm so sorry. I'm so fucking sorry." Crying into their shoulders I felt them tense under my tender touch before eventually wrapping their arms around me tightly holding me close to the both of them. "It's not your fault Karina, it's no ones fault but those who have done wrong in the past." Knox whispered leaning his head into mine as Atticus gently rubbed circles on my back. Sitting up I rubbed my hands over my eyes taking deep breaths to calm myself before standing up. "If you want to take a shower there are showers in the rooms next to mine. And when you're done come back in here I won't allow my mates to sleep on the couch in a new place." Giving them a warm smile I headed into my bathroom taking a nice long calming shower. After my shower I got dressed and headed into my room seeing the twins pacing around the room nervously. "Are you sure Karina? We don't mind sleeping downstairs if your uncomfortable being with us." Atticus said stepping toward me and holding his hands out nervously as I blushed walking over to him and grabbing his hands tenderly. "It's quite the opposite I feel more at ease just being close to you right now." Giving them a bashful smile their eyes widened looking me up and down before their eyebrows dipped fearfully. "Karina if you feel the slightest bit uncomfortable during the night wake us up and kick us out, okay?" Knox said stepping closer and sighing in relief seeing me nod as I headed to the bed and crawled in. Eventually they crawled into bed on either side of me stiffly getting under the covers. Settling into their warmth I rolled over picking up Knox's arm and cuddling into his side as Atticus scooted over getting close to me as sleep took over.
