I look at this man, he has eyes that are made of black and feed onto terror. He can sense my fear while he continues to stare me down. He doesn't blink either and it's hard to even let go of this gaze because if I do I fear he will kill me.
"Celine Waters," he says to me without taking his eyes off. If it's part of his game to scare me, then it's working. "You're sixteen and still sleep with a teddy. You also believe there's a monster under you bed, correct?"
I shake my head. I'm not sixteen.
"Well in my information you are. And I'm always correct, never wrong. You understand, Celine?"
I remain quiet thinking where has the ten years gone. Where are those moments im supposed to have. The first day of high school and the last day of primary. Where are those emotions? It's like I've missed so many important chapters of my life I am supposed to be part of. This can't happen.
I close my eyes again, hoping I would just wake up now from this little nightmare and it would take me back ten years. I would wake up in my bed screaming for my mother and she would come running. But when I open them, I remain here in a cell and ten years has past.
"How?" I said with tears starting to stream down my face. I can't believe this, it still must be a lie.
"You went to sleep and died there. You were only six. But I am a mastermind, I have the technology that scientists wish they could have. I can awaken the dead with a price, they age ten years and have no memory of that time."
"So everyone thinks I died?"
"Yes and now you are here under my observation. You look healthy but oh. There's fear in your eyes. Let me tell you, Celine you are not in danger. In fact you are safe here."
"Safe?" I question him.
"Indeed, but it looks like you doubt me. There should be none of that, because you have your total faith in me."
"But there are memories I'm supposed to have. Don't you care? I've wasted ten years and I remember nothing since then. It's like I haven't even had a life. I want those minutes back. I need those minutes back!"
"Unfortunately you can't. Time goes on and there's no Time Machine, so how on earth are you going to travel back in time?" The man mocks me, laughing to himself. "You're funny. You are!" Then he walks out of the cell that keeps me locked here. I hear the key ticking in the lock making sure I stay here and it feels deafening.
I look up at the bars and I see light seeping through them. I stand on the metal bar which is my bed and I grip my hands around the bars which sends electricity through me. I hear a bell going off in the distance and people running, like there's murder. Then I hear the door opening again, I turn to see the man standing there with a frown on his face.
"You can't escape," he says before walking towards me. I see something in his hands, a laser I think.
"No! You don't get to do this!" I screamed and the laser touches my skin. I feel it burns me and suddenly I black out like my memory goes.
