Sam is currently sitting in probably the most uncomfortable chair of her life. She's hungry, tired, bored, but most of all uncomfortable. She's never been comfortable having to talk to individuals about feelings, like she's being forced to right now."So, Sam how are you liking it here?" The therapist asks. Sam only groans as a response, not feel in the mood to talk. It's not her fault they decided to do this right before dinner.
"It fine, but I wanna go mommy's house" she grumbles out frustrated. The therapist has been trying to talk to sam for the last 30 minutes but hasn't gotten very far. He really wants to gently pull her out of little space to have a chat with big Sam.
"Do you like your mommy?" The therapist asks. Sam smiles for the first times since being there and nods her head excitedly.
"Do you feel safe around her?" Sam takes a minute, thinking about all the time she has spent with the woman over her stay.
"I've never felt safer" Sam responds sounding more adult-ish. She can feel the little that has been in the front seat of her brain finally start to take a step back.
"Am I talking to big Sam?" The therapist questions knowingly. Sam straightens up in her chair slightly. Her demeanor changes from the playful innocent girl to the mature woman who had jobs to do and bills to pay.
"Yes sir" She replies back shyly.
"Would you mind answering a few more of my questions now that your bigger?" Sam only nods her head quietly.
"I need your full consent that this adoption is based off mutual feelings." He says like he's said it a million times before.
"Yes, you have my full consent" The girl responds back ready to be over with this conversation. This is the first time Sam has been big since the first time she slipped into headspace. She desperately wants to go back to her little self and run back into Amelia's loving arms.
"You don't feel like your in danger or being taken advantage of?" He questions
"No sir, I do not" Sam's quick to respond back.
The appointment last a little longer with a couple more questions before the therapist told Sam that she's good to go. Sam stands up quickly from the uncomfortable chair and walks over the the door to reveal Amelia sitting in a chair outside the room. As soon as she sees Sam she stands up bringing her little girl in her arms, encasing her in a hug.
Sam takes a second to reciprocate wrapping her arms around Amelia tightly. Amelia takes a big breath smelling Sam's head making her body physically relax.
Amelia shifts slightly so she can take a good look at Sam's face. Instantly she recognizes Sam's eyes don't hold their usual innocence and playfulness. Instead she almost looks frustrated with her eyebrows pinched together.
"You okay Sam?" Amelia asks choosing not to use any baby names knowing the headspace Sam is in. Amelia figures she's probably pretty vulnerable right now considering it's been a while since Sam was big.
"Yeah, I'm just kinda tired" Sam responds looking down at her feet.
"How about we get some dinner first? We can go out to a nearby restaurant if you'd like." The woman speaks softly while combing her hand through the girls hair.
"That sounds nice" Sam relies sheepishly.
The two set off to leave the facility making sure to check out at the front desk. Sam felt relieved to get out of the building, she feels slightly awkward being in the place with a bigger mindset. The talk with the therapist slightly dampened her mood, she had to go a little in detail about her childhood. Those painful memories rushing back into her mind.
"Would you like some help getting in the car?" Amelia asks Sam hesitantly.
"I think I can manage" Sam relies with a small smile tugging at her lips.
The drive was quite but not awkward. Sam found comfort in the silence giving her a chance to relax and breathe. The woman wanted to talk to the girl but knew it was better if she had some time to process
They pull up to a small little diner that looked fairly old but remodeled. Walking through the door Amelia leads Sammy over to a small table in the back. Amelia wants nothing more than to sit Sam in her lap but knows it'd be best not to.
"How y'all doing tonight? Can I get you started with anything?" The young waiter asked enthusiastically. His long brown hair tied up in a bun with a pencil sticking out, while his white shirt sporting some food stains. He's holding a pen and paper ready to right down their order.
"Yes two waters and a decaf coffee" Amelia says without missing a beat before the girl can say anything.
"And I'll have a coke" Sam says defiantly while glaring slightly at the older woman. Not that she didn't like Amelia ordering for her but she was big now so she could do it herself, Also part of her wanted to test the woman. She had been so dependent on her it kinda scared her a little.
"No coke. I will not be dealing with a sugar rush later tonight." The woman says with a stern tone that makes Sam want to roll over and show her belly, but the brat in the girl refused.
Amelia knew it was too late for any sugar and with Sam's track history of not being able to sleep at night, she knew it'd be best to play it safe.
"Amelia I'm an adult right now I can make my own decision" Sam meant for it to come out stern but it sounded more like a whiny child.
The waiter watching the whole thing play out with his eyes bouncing back and forth between the two.
"No coke, end of story. Unless you want to find yourself with your nose in a corner." Amelia knew Sam was big but that doesn't mean she can do whatever she wants. Amelia's job is to take care of Sam big or little and she was not about to be up all night with the girl.
Sam stays quiet with her head hung down and the waiter takes that as his que to leave. The girl so frustrated with all the emotions from earlier to now has tears threatening to fall. She was so independent before. Yes, she may have not taken the best care of herself or have done very dangerous irrational things but she still survived.
Amelia looks over the small girl seeing the internal battle going on. She sympathizes with Sam knowing the girl is still so new to everything about this life.
"I'll tell you what, since you're big right now and today's been a little rough when we get back I'll let you use my phone." Amelia says hoping to lighten the mood. Sam's head jolts up eyes locking with Amelia's as she nods fervently.
Sam desperately wanted to feel like an adult again and felt like being able to use a phone again would help. She also wanted to call her mom, no matter how terrible she was Sam still wanted to check in on the woman she's been taking care of all her life.
"So Sam I wanted to ask-" the waiter interrupted bringing the drinks to the table and proceeded asking if they were ready to order. Amelia went ahead and ordered the house salad while Sam ordered a plain cheeseburger with fries. He soon left allowing Sam to turn her attention completely to Amelia leaving the older woman to finish her statement. "I wanted to ask if you were okay being mine and Rory's little."
Amelia knew what the therapist said and knows what little Sam wants but she still wanted to ask herself.
"All of this kinda happened really fast-" Sam hesitated feeling like a dear caught in headlights. She nervously picks on the skin around her fingers before letting out a small smile."but if there's one thing I know it's that I trust you. You've made me feel loved and wanted in a way I've never thought possible. For once I feel like I have parents and I never want that to go away. So yes, I would love to be your little and for you to be my mommy"
It's been a hot minute but I hope yall enjoy!
