Chapter 13

Sam proceeded to scarf down her food while Amelia watched with concern scared the girl was gonna choke.

"Slow down Sammy it's not going anywhere" Sam put down her burger with red cheeks, slightly embarrassed. The nickname gave her a fuzzy, all to familiar feeling in her brain. She wanted nothing more than to sit in the woman's lap while she fed her.

Her old self would have detested the girl she was now, but that doesn't matter anymore. She liked her new life enjoying how loved and cherished she felt.

"You okay love? You're zoning out a little." Amelia asked her eyebrows furrowed. She wanted to know what was going on in the girls brain.

"I'm okay, but could I-" the girl hesitated scared of saying what she wanted in fear of judgment.

"Yes Sammy?" Amelia questioned

"Could I uhmmm sit on your lap?" Sam says quietly to embarrassed to say out loud. She looks down at her food scared of what Amelia might say.

"Of course sweetie" Amelia stands up and circles around til she's in the booth with Sam. She plucks Sam up sitting the little on her lap with her back to her chest.

Sam happily picks up her burger to finish eating while Amelia sticks her nose in the littles hair breathing deeply. The woman was addicted to her scent the same way someone would be addicted to crack. She couldn't get enough of Sam being her baby.

Once the two finished they headed back to the academy. The two settled in with Amelia driving and Sam lookout the window.

"How old are you?" Sam questioned out of the blue looking over to the woman.

"I'm 345" Amelia says

"Wow you're old" Sam says with wide eyes. She didn't mean to be rude but was genuinely shocked. Amelia simply chucked amused by Sam's reaction.

"How long have you and Rory been together?" Sam asks feeling a need to know more about her new caregiver

"289 years baby" Sam blushes at the name.

"How'd you two meet?"

"Well Rory and I had a friend who set us up on a blind date and the rest was history" Amelia smiles thinking back to that day she met her wife. She knew the second she saw her she was never gonna leave. And who knew the alpha of one of the largest packs was just a big ol' softie on the inside.

"What about you love. Were you ever in a relationship?"

"Ughh no thank you, I'll pass" Sam says while fake gagging. Amelia lets out a loud belly laugh making Sam burst out laughing. Eventually the laughter dies down and the settle into silence

"Did you have a little before me?" Sam says breaking the quietness.

"Nope. Rory and I always knew we're were going to adopt but wanted to get the timing right." Amelia says

"And now the timing is right?" Sam ask hesitantly

"We made the timing right. I knew when I first held you that you were different, and I would never be able to let you go." Amelia says wholeheartedly.

"I've never had anyone care about me before, not even my own mom. It's weird." Sam says slightly sad.

"I'll never be able to change the past Sam, but what I can do is be here for you now. I'm not going anywhere so you're stuck with me" Amelia says while taking one hand to tickle the girl making her laugh.
