The next day, you and Larissa got up early, grabbing a quick breakfast before setting forth and dealing with the day.
She had to work in her office for the large majority of the day, which left you alone in the library.
You saw Eugene who was in an utter state of panic over the rumours he had heard about the situation with Rowan but you had to reassure him that principal Weems had everything under control.

Eugene walked out with at least five more books that he found interest in, leaving you alone. No one came in the library that day, so when lunch came around, you headed towards the cafeteria which was not like you at all.
You preferred to eat privately.

On your arrival in the cafeteria, you didn't see Larissa. Of course Larissa wouldn't be there. She was probably working in her office, typing on that same laptop until her fingers broke.
You thought for a moment and decided to take Larissa food from the cafeteria.

While you were serving the food for the both of you, Marilyn approached you.
" Eat much?" She asked with a smile, adjusting her glasses.
You let out a dry chuckle. " Uh-um-oh, no this is for Larissa."
Marilyn raised her eyebrows. " Oh?"
" She's working a lot." You said, looking down at the food.
Marilyn nodded with understanding. " Alright y/n, I'll leave you to it." She parted your arm again and walked away.
You let out a breath that you didn't know you were holding. To the outside world, Larissa was your friend and nothing more. You were quite sure that she didn't want to announce that you were her girlfriend.

You took the food up to her office and knocked on her door.
" Larissa?" You called.
Larissa opened her office door with a jolt all so suddenly. You looked up at her and saw her frustrated face. She was clearly having a bad day.
" What?" She snapped and covered her mouth with her hand.
Your eyes widened. " Oh, uh, Larissa I brought you food." You said with caution.
Larissas heart melted. " You didn't need to. Thank you, darling." She forced a smile and took the plate from you gently.
" How's it going?"
Larissa let out a sigh and beckoned you to come into her office. She shut the door behind you and placed her food down.

" I spoke with Rowan's parents. His death will be covered up. From what outsiders know, Rowan ran away." Larissa explained.
Your eyes widened. " But Larissa—"
" I know. I have to protect the school from controversy." Larissa sat down in her office chair and glanced at her laptop.
You looked down. " Larissa, this must be so difficult for you." You whispered and looked at her.
" It's fine. I just— y/n, I know what you're thinking. I know this is immoral. I know it is. But— you don't know how many walls and protective barriers I have built around the school and I will not see them destroyed, they're staying up, no matter the cost. This is my life's work. This is my job and I will succeed in it." She explained with seriousness.
You nodded and placed your plate down, appriaching her.

" Larissa, I understand." You said softly.
Your lover looked up at you with a small smile.
" Thank you, dear." She responded and thought for a moment. " I'm sorry I snapped at you earlie—"
" Hush, it's understandable." You smiled in reassurance and bent down to give her a small kiss.
" Shall we eat?" Larissa asked.
You nodded. " I'm starving, yes please."
You pulled a chair to sit beside Larissa to comfort her. You both ate together, side by side, starting up a conversation in order to pull your minds away from the Rowan incident for a few short moments.

After eating, Larissa kissed your cheek.
" Darling?" She looked at you.
" Mm?"
" Would you like to come to my chambers again toni—"
" Yes." You said suddenly, Larissas eyes grew wide at your urgent response.
" Okay darling." She chuckled.
" Sorry, yes." You laughed, cheeks burning in embarrassment.
" You're so cute. Now, I have work. But I'll see you later, okay?" Larissa looked up at you as you stood up, taking both of your plates.
" Okay, I'll see you." You smiled and walked out her office, giving Larissa one last comforting glance before closing the door behind you.

You took the plates to the kitchen and returned to the library, seeing Wednesday.
" Hi Wednesday." You greeted.
" Miss Y/l/n." She nodded and continued to scan the shelf for books.
" Need any help?"
" Yes actually. Do you know a book with this symbol printed on it?" She asked, handing you a piece of paper.
You looked at the symbol but shook your head.
" Uh, no. Sorry. Do you know what the book is about? Maybe I can find you a copy." You offered.
Wednesday looked at you. " It's fine." She walked out the library.

You let out a sigh and sat at your desk, deciding to scan more books into the system.
You loved your job, dealing with books and everything, but sometimes it got boring and lonely.

When the early evening arrived, you locked up the library and returned to your dorm, going for a shower before packing pyjamas and necessities, returning to Larissas chambers.
You knocked a few times and the door opened. Larissa smiked down at you and let you through.
" Darling, instead of going downstairs for dinner, how about we go to the Weathervane?" She asked, looking at you.
" Do you really think that would be a good idea, with the Row—"
" I need to get out." She interrupted, putting on her coat.
You nodded and placed your bags down. " Okay, but we need to keep safe."
Larissa nodded and hugged you tightly.
" Thank you. Shall we?"
You smiled with a nod and entertwined your arm with hers, heading out to the Weathervane.

The air was cold. Larissas jacket was flowing against the chilling breeze as you hopped in the car. She started the car up and began driving.
" Thank you for agreeing to this. I've been cooped up in that office all day." She said.
" Of course. Don't thank me. I'm happy to accompany you." You smiled.
Larissa looked at you with a sparkle in her eye before reaching towards the stereo and pressing play.
ABBA began playing and your eyes widened.
" ABBA?" You smiled with a giggle.
" Of course, we need something uplifting."
" You've got a good taste."
Larissa laughed and you both enjoyed the uplifting melodies of ABBA before parking in front of the Weathervane and heading inside.

The fireplace in the cafe kept it warm, which allowed for you and Larissa to take off your coats. You sst down at your usual booth and ordered some food and hot chocolate.
" The Poe Cup is coming up." Larissa noted out loud, after ordering.
" What's that?"
" It's a canoe race without rules."
" That sounds dangerous." You chuckled uneasily.
Larissa nodded. " It can be but it's a good experience for the students who participate."
You nodded. " I guess. When is this Poe Cup?"
" Friday, I just have to sort out some things. Tomorrow you will notice that the teams will be decorating their canoes on the campus. Marilyn will be invigilating."
You nodded and smiled. " Did you participate when you were a student?"
" Yes, actually. I was part of The Black Cats."
You raised your eyebrow. " Really?"
" Yes, Morticia was the captain, I was the co-pilot and we represented Ophelia Hall." Larissa explained, smiling slightly at the memory.
" That's lovely, did you win?"
" Yes, we did." Larissa chuckled.

Tyler soon brought the food and drinks and you and Larissa ate away at your food, talking mindlessly about silly little things that actually meant a lot when it came from her.

You soon left to go back to Nevermore, driving along the dampened roads and into the premesis.
Larissa and you snuck into her chambers and she kissed you so suddenly. You immediately melted into the kiss with a giggle.
" Sorry, your lips are so kissable." Larissa chuckled, kissing your lips and peppering kisses over your cheeks.
You laughed and looked up at her in admiration.
" So are yours." You kissed her back and she pulled you closer.

Larissa and you eventually went for showers, separately before hopping into bed together.
She immediately came to hold you tightly and you lay on her chest, cradled in her arms.
" You're so beautiful." You whispered, making Larissa blush.
" Oh hush, you." She rolled her eyes.
" I will not, Larissa Weems." You said with a fake attitude.
Larissa chuckled. " You're beautiful too... absolutely gorgeous." Larissa kissed you again and ran her fingers through your hair as you lay back down.

You snaked your hands around Larissas waist and cuddled with her until you both grew immensely tired.
" Good night, Rissy." You whispered.
Larissa smiled at the nickname. " Goodnight, my moon." She responded, your nickname making you smile too.
