It was only a couple of days after the royal ball, but the King and Queen could tell that their son's mind was elsewhere, and they were right: Claudio couldn't stop thinking about Daniella, and he wanted to see her again. Not only that, but by the way he smiled at the mention of her name or at the sight of her necklace, his parents could see that Claudio was falling in love with Daniella. Even though they were a little concerned about their son being with someone of a different species, the King and Queen could see that their son had found someone who actually cared for them, instead of the suitors who cared for his wealth.

When asked if he wanted to visit Falwell and reunite with his love, Claudio nodded without a second thought and started planning his route to the village, planning on flying there by himself with a carriage following closeby. The planning took a couple more nights just to make sure that every detail was perfect, including having the carriage horses ready for a long ride, and Claudio hoped to reach the tavern by sunrise. It was early in the evening when they started their journey, and after promising to come back soon, Claudio said goodbye to his parents and took off towards Falwell. Even though it was hard to spot Claudio in his bat form a few times, the carriage was able to locate him through his chirps as they traveled.

While all this was happening, Daniella was continuing to work as hard as she could in her family's tavern, but her father could tell that something was on her mind. When she was having some downtime in her room one evening, she was sitting on her bed and looking out her window when her father asked if he could come in, and she pulled up a chair for him before he sat. After asking if she was alright, Raoul listened as Daniella spoke about how much she missed Claudio, and she sighed as she admitted having feelings for the prince before he chuckled and assured her that she was alright. When asked if it was really okay for her to be in love with the vampire prince, Daniella was surprised as Raoul reassured her, and he told her that even her mother would have approved of her love.

After thanking him for his help, Daniella asked her father if she could go outside that night and get some fresh air, and he agreed to let her go for a while before she donned her old coat and headed outside. While she was enjoying how beautiful the evening sky looked, complete with the most gorgeous full moon she had ever seen in her life, she was quite surprised to hear the sound of nearing footsteps. Upon quickly turning around to investigate, Daniella's surprise turned to shock when she noticed that the footsteps were from an approaching carriage pulled by four horses, but she didn't recognize the steeds or the wagon.
