As he told her not to tell anyone, my heart continued to drop. Was I about to help him do something illegal? I can't ruin my clean record! I am scared as to what is going to happen.
"You got the stuff?" He shouted at her.
"Yeah, I got the stuff!" she replied, opening her boot. She walked towards us with what looked like either space suits or scuba suits... What were they planning?

"Right, so Simon here doesn't know the plan." Cornelius said, as if I was meant to know the plan.
"Did he bring the gear though?" she asked Cornelius while staring at me.
"I would like to know what is going on otherwise my equipment will not be associated with whatever is going on." I blurted out, "And why are you both talking about me like a child. I am a 26-year-old man. And I am right here. Ask me your questions about whether I brought this and brought that."
"Ooh! Tiny man is standing up for himself. Cool." Elora laughed.
"Do you want to use my equipment or what?" I asked, getting more irritated as I asked these questions.
"Nah- we need your equipment bro. So, here's the plan"
He was finally going to tell me what I was taking part in. Took long enough.

"Simon will stay up here with his laptops and a headset. Elora will have a Scuba suit on with a camera harnessed to her and a microphone in her helmet. I will have a suit on as well, but I am not having a camera, just a microphone."
"What exactly are you doing though?" I asked, worried about the reply.
"Let me finish- so, me and Elora are going down into the lake to explore and try and find some cool things."
"That sounds dangerous-"
"Shut it, nerd."
"I can leave?"
"Ugh- no, you need to stay."
"Let's get this plan into action!" Elora calls out in excitement.

And so, I ended up helping them into their suits, strapping a camera around Elora and attaching waterproof microphones to their helmets. Then I connected their mics to my headset and computer, and the camera to my computer. I decided I was going to record what they could see and what they were saying.
"Right, you are all set. Remember, there is only enough oxygen to last you 12 hours. If you are down there for longer than 4, I will tell you to come back up for a break." I say with caution.
"Ok, ok whatever- let's get going!" Cornelius said before diving in.
"Listen man- If anything happens down here, we rely on you to help us. You got it?"
I nod, too scared to speak. Their lives could depend on me.
"Hasta la vista!" she shouted before diving down to Cornelius.
