June over by now, and so were the festivities, but the cold mornings and evenings didn't seem to be going away any time soon.
It was Saturday too, wich meant Bianco, Harrison, Harriet, Jerome, Rainer and even Damasco usually got off work early, wich turned the Pastry shop into a nice hangout to everyone involved.
Couple that with Barley now being a frequent customer, and Venus usually tagging along with Rainer and Harriet after work on days like that, and the conversations topics just wouldn't stop coming, to the joy of Bryan.Jerome: Wait... So you're the co-owner of this place?
Bianco: Yep. That's why it's called Bull Brothers Bakery.
Damasco: That explains a lot.
Jerome: Then why do you work as an interior designer at Wolfheart Real Estate?
Bianco: Because that's my real passion. Once things first started here and we hired the boys, I was free to do it too.
He exchanged some understanding glances with his twin brother at the other side of the counter and they both smiled.
Nero: Yep. And I'm so glad you're successful.
Bryan: Aaaawn!
Bianco: Same to you bro. The staff has basically doubled since we opened. We didn't even do deliveries at the time and now we have an amazing delivery gal.
Cindy, who was at the corner of the place, checking her cellphone while waiting for her next delivery, tuned her gaze towards them at that moment. It was hard to say, but Bryan could almost feel the tiniest smile in her face after the sudden appreciation.
Raff: She's more than amazing.
Cindy: Shut up!
They both laughed at that, and so did everyone else.
Barley: Gosh... This makes me wish I knew about this place sooner.
Rocky: Does it mater?
Barley: It has so much history.
Takoda: Not that much. We're still just a few years in the business.
Venus: I guess what he's trying to say is that... He wished he was there to see the more formative moments to what this place is today.
Barley: Yep. Couldn't have put it better myself.
They all laughed once again, and just then Bryan realized how much that place had changed in so little time.
Venus: By the way, Harriet. Didn't you have something to tell us?
Rainer: Yeah. You kept building up the suspense the whole morning at the agency.
The hippo looked into the eyes of her bull husband for a second, as the whole room suddenly fell into silence, then he nodded affirmatively for her to tell everyone.
Harriet: I'm pregnant.
It took a second or two for everyone to process that. But then they were all smiling, excited by the news.
Harrison: Wait... So I'm an uncle now?
Bianco: Don't hog the glory for yourself hun.
Tyler: Bet they will make a pretty cute mix. Like, a bull and a hippo?
Nilo: Can't wait to pinch their cheeks.
The two of them were finally able to join the conversation, after getting out of the kitchen for a moment.
Nero: Thanks guys... We had this information for a couple of months now but we held onto it for a while just to be sure it was going smoothly. We had a few miscarriages on the way...
