I watch Charlotte walk upstairs to her room. I still can't believe she agreed.

I honestly picked her just to see what her reaction would be. I was hoping she would decline so I wouldn't have to get married.

Because I am definitely not marrying Clair. She clung on my arm the whole time I was here.

She kept batting her eyelashes. Maybe her goal was to make it look seductive, but instead it just looked extremely weird.

At least Charlotte looked normal, even though she is the same girl that called me a jerk earlier today. She has an edge. I like that

"Lucas why don't you want to marry me! What does that monster have that I don't" Clair whined snapping me out of my thoughts

Yeo Charlotte is way better than Clair.

"She has kindness unlike you" my father spat

"Paul I honestly thought you would have raised her better raised than this." He said shaking his head

"Katy I congratulate you on how Charlotte turned out. Unlike Clair she actually talked to me instead of ignoring me and leaching onto my son" my father said turning towards Katy

"Dan" Paul began

"I think we are done here" I finally spoke up

My father and I stood up

"We will come back for Charlotte tomorrow. Goodnight" my father said walking outside.

We got into our car and left the Greens standing in their doorway shocked,  well Paul was more furious than shocked.

I can't believe they talked so poorly about Charlotte. Something is not right with that family, and I am going to find out what it is. I swore to myself.

Charlotte

As soon as I got in my room I started sorting through my clothes deciding what to pack. I still can't believe I am going to leave this awful place!

I need to call Ally, she is going to freak!

I quickly dialed Ally's number

"Hey girl, what up" she asks

"You will never believe what happened tonight?!"

"What happened! Did you finish the movie?!"

"No, something even better"

"Whats better than movie?"

"I am finally leaving my house! I am leaving Paul,my mother, and even Clair!" I exclaimed m

"Oh my God!"she screamed

"How how how" she asked

"Well today when I came home from work Mr.Knight and Mr.Jerk were in my living room"

"As in Mr.Knight the billionaire"

"Yes, and it turns out Mr.Jerk is his son"

"Wow, so what did they want?"

"They wanted Mr.Jerk to marry Clair"

"Wait why"

"Apparently Mr.Jerk needs a wife for some reason"

"So how does this help you escape your family"

"Mr.Jerk chose me to be his bride over Clair"

"Oh my god! My bestie gets to marry a handsome billionaire"

"That is a jerk"

"Charlotte Gray Green! He is going to be your husband. Show him a little respect."

"Yes mother"

"That's right"

"I am so jealous of you" she said with envy

"Charlotte!" Paul yelled. Oh boy I'm in for it.

"The devil is coming. I gotta go"

"Good luck. Call me if you need anything"

"Okay, goodnight mother"

"Goodnight daughter" she said hanging up. I shake my head smiling. What would I do without her.

"Charlotte!" Paul yells marching in, and slamming the door shut
