'Come find me when you're ready,...'
Winston's words ran through their mind as they headed down the hall. They knew exactly where he would be.

The same spot they had left from the first time. Yuliya sighed upon their walk as they remembered....

《Past》

They had just been placed in the wheelchair from their last omnic crisis mission. 76 and Yuliya took the grounds as Ana and her daughter were in the Air,  or for Ana, on the roof. McCree was around somewhere, he always was.  "I got eyes on the target" Phara signaled.  "Making a barrier!" Winston roared in the comlinks. "Avalon, you know what to do" McCree smirked under his breath.

Yuliya smirked also, this time. Of course, they knew if the plan went right, that was.
They rushed up with their scepter, the cloaked black figure in front of them completely being distracted by Phara and Ana.  Yuliya grunts and makes a slice his way, to Reaper of talon, aka Gabriel Reyes, one of their and 76's used to be close friend.

But, something happened. Reaper vanished to smoke, causing Yuliya 's eyes to go wide as he ended up behind her, hitting her in the elbow as their scepter fell out of their hands, and kicking them in the leg to knock them on the ground. "Yul!" 76 shouts.

"Jack?! What's Happening??" Winston asks through coms. Yuliya winced in pain still do the last mission. They tried to get up. Thankfully, 76 knocked Reaper out of the way, just enough time to reach out a hand for them. Yuliya got up, eventually, as they grabbed their scepter they were in battle with Reaper solo. A giant omnic was right by. They needed to stop the escort that Talon had planned.

Yuliya felt their eyes narrow. "This isn't you, Gabriel..." they whispered.  Only for him to growl under his mask.  "You don't know the actual me"

When Reapers guns were blocked with Yuliya's scepter, they had felt the ground start to rumble. "Guys, we have a problem!!" Genji came through the coms now. Yuliya tried to look while still blocking from their old friends' strength. "What is it?!" They shout. "We need to move! Now!" He shouts again.  More planes came by and started bombing the city around them. "Yuliya, get out of there! You can catch him another time!" McCree came through.

Yuliya growls at this. They knew he were right. Yet, still, as they were about to evade, Reaper made a slight gasp, as Yuliya thought, they heard a bit of Gabriel in that voice while he did.  He quickly turned into smoke, going on a rooftop next to a woman with a long ponytail. Yuliya always wondered who that could have been.  Though, the next thing Yuliya knew was darkness that over came them, and their name being shouted by many... more so through one than the others...

"Yuliya...!"

~

Half of a building had fallen off of Yuliya that day... they thought they lost their friend. All of Overwatch and the world had.
When they found Yuliya under the rumble, McCree felt their pulse... "They're alive!"
He shouted, he didn't have his cigar as he gave a worried look. "Hold on, Yul.. hold on.."

.. it had never been the same for any of them that day. Even more so after the war was over...

"I can't do this anymore, Winston...I just... I'm useless.." Yuliya spoke with their arms crossed, looking out of the hospital's window, in their current chair.

Winston decided to visit every day until they recovered. They were their responsibility after all. "You're never useless, Yuliya... never think that... we all need you...I need you..." he walked up to them as they had their eyes closed and took their hand in his.
Yul looked his way now. "It won't be the same... I'm sorry..." they frowned. Winston knew there was no changing their mind. He frowned but nodded. "I'll tell the others... but know, Overwatch is always here for you, I am always here for you..." Yuliya nods slightly.  "I know.. thank you, Winston..I just need time..."

~
Though It had been a few days later.

Yuliya had found themselves packing up after another frustrating day at Overwatch. They were exhausted, mentally and physically.

Someone coughed in the doorway of their office, and Yul didn't even have to glance to know who it was.  "Where do you think you're goin?" A rough voice asked, though with a hint of concern.

"Home. My new home...I can't stay at overwatch any longer..." Yuliya paused. They felt empty, every since the incident... the others knew this too. McCree walked forward, helping them pick up the last item, which was a picture of all of them.

"I know it's been rough... not being able to do things as you once did, though maybe, when you think you're ready.. when you know you're ready, you'll find a way... like you always do.." McCree chuckled lightly, handing them the photo as they held on their wheelchair.

Yuliya's eyes narrowed some, a bit in thought of McCree's choice of words. They looked at him now, as he was heading out with his boots clacking on the floor. "Hey cowboy..." The spoke, getting him to glance back. Yuliya gave a soft smile, that they haven't done in some time "...thanks" they nod,  he gave one in return and left the room.

They knew McCree was right. It was just hard as of now. When Yuliya threw their bag over their shoulder, they took one last look in their room, office, and main hub, and were almost headed out the front doors.
"You're leaving without saying goodbye..?"
A voice called out. Yuliya closed her eyes, loosening her grip on her wheels. "I was hoping not to get emotionally attached again, Winston..." they remind. The monkey huffed lightly. Soon, being right behind them.

"Yul..." Winston sighed, yet,  Yuliya turned around, giving her friend a giant hug. The monkey gladly gave one in return. "I know... you'll find what you're looking for... and we'll be here when you're ready to return.. I promise.." he whispered. Yuliya felt a tear fall. "Don't make any promises you can't keep..." they mumbled, Winston smiled some.
"Stay safe...Avalon."
