"Chief, do ya see 'em yet!?!," the elderly man came up next to a dispirited Misty Luggins.

"No, not yet . . . ," She shook her head after she waved off her few fellow officers. The moonlight shown her face to be in a gloom of disappointment for a brief second, until a mischievous grin lights up her face again. "But don't cha worry! Ya ain't got a thing to worry about, sir. By the time I catch this pickpocket, and whoever random blonde chick he's with, they'll be gone in jail all in one piece!"

Seriously . . . ? "Random blonde chick" . . . ?

The young woman mentally rolled her eyes. She sighed quietly.

Well, it's better than to "not" be known sometimes

I guess . . .

"I hope you're right about that. I want my damn money back!," He complained as he pulled out his wallet, and opened the flaps. A fly flew out of it.

The chief and the elderly man, who Wolf and Myla robbed from earlier, are currently on the search for them in CricketLeap park.

Fortunately, Myla and Wolf manage to locate a large log that laid over a narrow hole beneath the ground that was just big enough for a couple of individuals to wriggle their way inside of, so they hid themselves underneath it. Though the hole was wide enough for both of them to squeeze into, there was barley enough room for either of them to stand fully upright, or freely move their limbs . . . let alone breathe without accidentally inhaling each other's breath.

Unfortunately, Misty wasn't the only law of authority on the prowl for Mr. Wolf or Night Wielder. She had called for backup also, and now every officer was searching through the woods.

Mr. Wolf sighed. "You just couldn't help yourself, now could you?," he sent an aggravated whisper to the blonde woman, who knelt no more than fourteen inches next to him with her purse between her knees.

"Hey, you stole from him first!," Myla bit back.

"Yeah, but you didn't give it back to him when you had the chance!"

"You literally coulda done the exact same thing while he was right there!"

"I'm the bad guy, whaddya expect?!"

"Well I guess that makes two of us, Mr. Poodlehead! Now we're both gonna get arrested!"

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Poodlehead—!?," Wolf stuttered, trying to process every new nickname she just seems to keep pulling out of her ass any time she's around him. "Lady, I swear, you're calling me a lot of things you would not get away with around Snake!" He inhaled to let out another sigh, but he pinched the bridge of his snout instead. He looked down with his eyes closed to regain his calm composure.
