Kana POV:

"Wow." Ruby stared at me, open-mouthed with shock. "Wow. I can't believe he told you that."

"I was so shocked too." I shrugged.

Me, Ruby and MEM were sitting near the fireplace with mugs of hot chocolate warming our hands.

"New York really does get snowy during winter," MEM remarked, looking out the window to the flakes of snow drifting from the sky to form huge lumps of snow on the ground. It really was a beautiful, and chilly, sight.

"I need to get fittings for my dress for our next performance," Ruby said, scrolling through her phone, "I'll see you guys at dinner."

"Bye." MEM waved her off with a smile, but before I could too, my ringtone buzzed.

I picked up my phone, and on it was a familair number. Laura's. Laura was a great friend of mine that I had made throughout my career. She was also an idol, and had come to New York as part of her American-wide trip to see me.

"Hi, Laura! Are you at the airport yet?"

"Oh my gosh Kana LISTEN to me!" Laura yelled into the phone.

"What?" I blinked, dumbfounded. Laura didn't usually sound so panicked.

"I was on the plane, scrolling through Twitter, right? AND YOU WON'T GUESS WHAT I FOUND."

"What...?"

"A picture of some girl and Kwang! You know, your Korean boyfriend?"

"Maybe it was his sister. He does have one, you know."

"No, it isn't! I searched his sister up and it isn't her. Besides, this girl, you know, she posted the picture, not Kwang, and they were at her house! She captioned it and mentioned he was her boyfriend! And I was like, WHAT, because it's PUBLIC that you two are dating, and since it's on her account, not a widely known account, it didn't blow up too much, but there WERE people spamming the replies with countless remarks on your behalf."

"Kwang... another girl? Huh?" I blinked in a daze until it finally hit me. "Wait, WHAT?! LINK ME THAT POST IMMEDIANTLY."

Just moments later I received a message from Laura and clicked on the blue link immediantly. It redirected me to Twitter and to the message.

MEM stared at me in confusion until she leaned over and saw the message.

I felt sick.

Because this wasn't just any girl. It was Annie.

Laura's voice struck my ear again. "YOU SEE IT, RIGHT?"

"Laura." I whispered. "I know this girl."

"You- what?"

"She was my high school bully. She hated me for stealing her job or something."

"You don't think it's an old grudge, do you? It all seems like... too much to be a coincidence."

"I know." I wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't come. "I didn't know... I thought Kwang was loyal. How could he do this? It would ruin his own reputation anyway. No way he would have let Annie send that post. She must have posted it... just to spite me..."

"GIRL, YOU NEED TO CALL HIM IMMEDIANTLY."

Laura kept shouting in my ear but I couldn't bring myself to respond. MEM's worried eyes and Laura's voice were nothing but a blur to me. All I could see was the tears slowly dripping onto my lap and sliding down my cheek.

My phone slid from my frozen hand and I lept out of my seat, sprinting down the corridor to the door where I lurched the door open. The cold blast of fresh air hit me as a comfort.

I ran down the snow-laden city streets, leaving behind MEM's voice shouting at me to come back, leaving behind Laura's small, muffled voice in the phone, leaving behind what I could.

Because if I took it with me, then I would surely drop with the weight of it all.
