Flora Reinhold and the mystery jewel (A professor Layton fanfic)

Chapter 1

"Dad...?",Flora asked in her bed. She tried to get out of her bed,but she couldn't move her legs. "What's going on?",Flora thought. She then saw her birthmark glow,her birthmark wasn't supposed to do that,no birthmarks can't.

She then saw Amelia,sitting on the left side of her bed. "Amelia...?",she asked. Amelia didn't say a word,instead she sat there,lifeless. "Amelia,what's the meaning of this?",Flora asked.Still,Amelia said nothing.Flora then touched her shoulder,then Amelia ran to Flora's closet. "Is this all in my imagination?",Flora asked herself,but then wondered why Amelia did that.She then felt a certain pain coming from her birthmark,it hurts a lot for her.

"Ow! What the hell!",said Flora.She tried to cover her birthmark to not feel the pain,but it still started to hurt,it was like you were stabbed in the back. "Someone help!",she yelled no-one came.Then Hershel came out of no where. "Dad,help! It hurts so much!",Flora shrieked.She was in tears.Hershel came up to her,his face was close to her ear. "Wake up.",Hershel whispered. "What...?",Flora asked. "Wake.Up.",said Hershel.

Flora then woke up.She looked around like something happened.She opened her curtain,the sky was normal."Wait,Amelia.",thought Flora.She then opened her closet,it was only her clothes. "What in the blazes?",said Flora. "Morning Flora.",said Hershel holding a uniform. "Wear this,it's for school.",said Hershel giving her the uniform.The uniform was all grey,except for the Jersey which was light yellow and the skirt which was dark red.Flora puts on the uniform and goes to breakfast.

Hershel was looking at a necklace,it was gold,and had a phoenix on it. "Flora,this necklace was my wife claire's,would you like to wear it?",Hershel asked. "Um... sure...",said Flora.Hershel gives her the necklace and Flora puts it around her neck.

Two honks from a car was heard from the window,Hershel checked it out who it was,it was Alfendi and Lucy Baker."That's them Flora,your bag and suitcases are by the door.",said Hershel. Flora then grabbed her pop tart,grabbed her bag and suitcases and ran to the car.Before she opened the door,she waved Hershel goodbye.

They arrive at the school. "Okay Flora,if someone bullies you,murder them.",Alfendi joked.No one laughed.As Flora walked to the school gates,she saw Amelia standing instead of hanging out with the other girls. "Hey,Amelia!",yelled Flora as she ran to Amelia. "Hi.",Amelia said quietly. "Why did you run off as the door opened yesterday?",Flora asked. "I didn't want to be seen by your dad,he'll embarrass me.",said Amelia. "But my dad doesn't embarrass people.",said Flora. "I'm just afraid that people I know will embarrass me infront of everyone.",said Amelia.Flora didn't know what to say,so she agrees with her. "Yeah,it's a pain for people you know embarrass you! Like my auntie Babette,she embarrasses me!",said Flora. "I didn't get your name,can you tell me?",Amelia asked.

"Oh yes,um... my name is Flora Layton,or Flora Reinhold.You can also call me Flo for short",said Flora.

"That's impossible,someone can't have two last names.",Amelia remarked. "Only if you're adopted by another family you can.",said Flora. "That seems fair.",said Amelia. "Ring Ring.",That was the sound of the bell. "Oh,we need to get in our dorms now,you might want to ask headmaster Rose where you're staying.",said Amelia.

Flora asks Rose which dorm she stays in. "Oh yes,I forgot to tell you which dorm you were staying in,did I?",said Rose.She then takes Flora to a dorm.The dorm only has to beds,one window,a closet,a desk to where you do your work,and a fireplace.And also Amelia.

"Oh,finally a roommate I can communicate with.Here,I want to show you something.",said Amelia as she went to the fireplace. Flora,out of curiosity sees what she's doing.Amelia pulls out a tile from the fireplace.Flora sees a tin there,Amelia picks up the tin and shakes the dirt out of it.Amelia opens the tin,Flora squeaks in fear when she sees bugs,she has a phobia of bugs,but there were also biscuits and java cakes wrapped in plastic in the tin. "Sorry about the creepy crawlies,here have biscuit or a java cake.",said Amelia. "But aren't biscuits against the school rules?",Flora asked. "Well,yeah.But consider this,I hid them at the fireplace,right? So that means the school doesn't know accept you and me.And by the way,I can see if tiles are easy to lift,so I'll be able to know which tile I put in.",said Amelia. "But-" 

"Come on Flora,take some.Or if you don't want to,that's fine,but please don't tell anyone about this."Amelia interrupted Flora. Flora knew it was wrong,but one wouldn't really hurt,in fact who cares,she takes a biscuit out of the plastic,it was like an oreo,but it was in a rectangular shape.Flora took a bite out of it. "It's good.",said Flora. "I know,right? We have to go to English class.I'll show you the way.",said Amelia. And they both walked to English class.
