Flora Reinhold and the mystery jewel (A professor Layton fanfic)

Chapter 2

In English,the teacher told the class about writing about yourself.Everyone was given a copy for writing.Flora,who was only new to this school and really never went to a school before because she was homeschooled was confused. "Isn't it supposed to be piece of paper to write in?",Flora thought.She saw everyone writing in it,even Amelia. "I guess this school just wants you to write in copies.",thought Flora as she wrote about herself in her copy.

I'm Flora Layton or Reinhold,you can call me Flo for short.I'm Thirteen years old and was adopted when I was ten.I'm friendly and quiet. 

At math class they were doing fractions but Flora really wasn't bothered to learn that.She already knew what fractions were since she was eleven,why were they teaching this again?

At lunchtime,Flora sat next to Amelia. "Why don't you guys get a piece of paper instead of a copy?",Flora asked.Amelia looked at flora. "Wait,your old class doesn't get a copy?!",Amelia asked surprised. "I mean,I was homeschooled for my whole life,I really didn't know we were writing in copies for class.",Flora said. "Well,we sometimes get a piece of paper for art.But you'll get used to it Flo.",said Amelia.Then there was yelling going on saying 'Fight! Fight! Fight!'

"What's going on?!",Flora asked.Amelia looks up to see what's going on. "Oh,it's those two girls from the sixth year.They always fight and it doesn't even end their friendship",said Amelia.Then,there was a whistle blown which made them stop fighting. "I'm honestly disappointed in you two for not listening to me.If this happens again,I'm going to make sure none of you will even talk to each other,even not being in a close distance,do I make myself clear?",said the girl.The girl had blue long hair that was near her knees,she had the same uniform on,she had light green eyes and there was a band-aid on her right leg. 

"Woah,who's that?",Flora asked. "She's the student concil leader in this school and you don't want to mess with her.",Amelia answered.The girl then walked towards Amelia and Flora. "Did we do something wrong?",Flora asked. "No,not at all miss Layton.",said the girl. "You can call me Flora if you want.",Flora said. "Okay then,the headmaster told me to give you these letters.I'd advice you to read these letters at reces.",said the girl as she gave her the letters. "Can I get your name?",Flora asked.

"I suppose I can since its appropriate.My name's Aurora,I'm in one of the sixth years and work for student council.",said Aurora,then walked off.

They played Lacrosse in one of the classes,Amelia told Flora about the rules and how to play the sport. "When they played a match,Amelia and Flora were on separate teams.As Amelia's and Flora's team were on a tie,everyone was trying to win,it was the last minute.Flora and Amelia accidently bumped into each other making them fall and lose the ball.They both looked at each other,then laughed. "Flora- Flora!  Did you see the ball going that far!",Amelia laughed.Amelia could see her birthmark then.As Flora realised she saw it,she quickly covered it up and stopped laughing.

At reces,Flora and Amelia are in their dormitory.Amelia is eating one of the java cakes from the tin,while Amelia is reading the two letters she received.One of the letters was from Hershel,it read:

Dear Flora,are you doing well at your school? I know that it's too early to write letters since it's your first day.I just had a chat with the unknown person who got me that letter two days ago,it was Dr.Shrader and he wanted help to find a jewel,and to find the jewel,we have to travel.And also,you don't need to be perfect at your school,just do your best. From your father,Hershel Layton. 

"Aww...",said Flora. "Did one of your relatives give a picture of a cute animal?",Amelia asked. "Oh,no.It's just a letter from my dad,I sometimes say that while reading his letters.",said Flora. "Normally don't get letters from my relatives,said Amelia. "How come?",Flora asked. "I'd rather not say...",answred Amelia. "That's alright Amelia,maybe I can write you some letters on the holidays.",said Flora. "That would be nice.",said Amelia.Flora then grabbed a piece of paper and wrote:

Dear father,Thanks for writing to me.I'm doing very well,thanks.Me and Amelia are doing very well.Hope you're going to be okay in your travels. From your daughter,Flora Reinhold or Layton.

"Wow Flo,your handwriting is better than mine.",said Amelia. "Are you just trying to make me feel good about myself?",Flora asked. "No,it's better than mine,trust me!",said Amelia. "Alright,alright,my handwriting is better than yours.",said Flora. "Oh,there's also another letter, read it.",said Amelia as she gave Flora the letter.

The letter was in an envelope,but the envelope was filled with tape which makes it hard to open. "Now this letter is going to take forever to open.",said Amelia. "I know,it's just like how my uncle puts letters in an envelope,fill it with tape.It's honestly just wasting tape.",said Flora.Amelia helped Flora open the letter,it took forever that they had to go to dinner and come back to opening it.Finally they managed to get the tape out. 

"Oh,finally.Let's take a biscuit for that.",said Amelia as she got the tin.Flora took the same one last time. "You know,this biscuit reminds me of an ice cream sandwich.",said Flora. "Come on,read it.",said Amelia. "Oh right,the letter.",said Flora.As Flora took out the letter from the envelope,it read:

Dear Flora,please meet me at the coffee shop near the school at reces,there's something I need help with.I'll explain there.You can also bring one person there,someone who is trusting.

"That's weird,who's it from?",Amelia asked. "The person didn't write it down.",Flora answered.Aurora then walked in. "Are you reading a letter,this late?",Aurora asked. "Why did you go in our room?",Flora asked. "I told the headmaster that I would make sure everyone will go to sleep.",Aurora answered. "We're just reading this letter and it tells us to meet them at the coffee shop to explain something,and the person didn't write it's name.",Flora said. "Let me see.",said Aurora. "Why? It's not like it's your business.",Amelia said rudely as she took the letter from Flora. "Let me see now.",demanded Aurora as she forcefully took the letter.She read the letter,then gave it back to Flora. "You know,you're not the only one who got this letter.",said Aurora. "What do you mean?",Flora asked. "You've heard the news about this,haven't you Flora? The news have said that there have been rumours about People have been getting the same letter as this and the culprit has been tricking them by impersonating someone they know and trapping them somewhere making them go missing.I'd advice you to be careful if you're doing this.Goodnight",said Aurora as she gave the letter back to Flora and exited the room.

"You know what,she's just jealous that she didn't get that letter.Like please,it's just a rumour.",said Amelia. "Mhm,but people were missing,even a bunch of freshmens.My dad also got that letter two days ago.He said he needed to travel to find a jewel.",said Flora. "So he must be fine then.If he wrote a letter to you,then he's okay.",said Amelia. "I guess so...",said Flora as her hand was at the lamp.Before Flora turned off the lamp,Amelia said something. "Hey Flora,can I come with you to the coffee shop for you no what.",Amelia asked. "Sure.",said Flora.And then,she turned off the lamp.
