Yoongi hates romantic movies.

He's always hated them, and he thinks he always will.

And yet, he constantly finds himself forced to watch them against his will with Jeongguk. The younger always chooses something like The Notebook or La La Land on movie nights, ignoring Yoongi's eye rolls and comments.

Jeongguk is a huge romantic at heart, never failing to amaze Yoongi with the words he chooses to describe the concept of love. The kid even thinks he'd hear bells ringing the moment he meets the love of his life. To put it one way, he's in love with love.

But Yoongi? To him, romance is complex, messy and unrealistic. In movies, the characters get put into these bizarre situations together and it somehow just works out. The characters are too perfect, or gloss over their differences too quickly.

It's not that he doesn't believe in love. He's witnessed people fall in love himself too. Take for example Jin, who's constantly gushing about how lucky he is to have Namjoon, his boyfriend for a few months now.

Yoongi has never met Namjoon, but from the way Jin never shuts up about him, he can conclude they make a good pair and genuinely seem to make each other happy.

Despite that, he doesn't think that romance is that fortunate to everyone. And he thinks that he's one of the people who doesn't have a chance at it at all. Which he accepts and is okay with. Still, he can't help but feel lonely at times.

"You know, maybe you wouldn't feel so lonely if you allowed yourself to at least go on a date..." Hoseok tells him, lying on his bed as Yoongi continues working on his assignments.

"I never said I mind being lonely," Yoongi replies, keeping his eyes on his work. He can tell his roommate is rolling his eyes without even looking at him.

"Then why do you always bring it up?"

"Am I not allowed to?" Yoongi retorts. If he's being honest, he does slightly mind it, especially now that Hoseok is so preoccupied with his own boyfriend. But that doesn't mean he's going to admit it and give Hoseok the satisfaction of being right. And he still doesn't want to involve himself with anyone anyways.

Hoseok sighs, before sitting up on his bed and addressing Yoongi once again, "That's not what I meant. I'm just saying, it wouldn't hurt to go on a date."

Finally, Yoongi tears his eyes away from the laptop sitting on his lap and he looks at Hoseok, "Let's say I did want to go on a date, which I do not, how would I even get one?"

With that comment, he notices Hoseok slightly playing with his fingers as he looks away from Yoongi's spot on the couch.

He senses his best friend is stalling something.

Yoongi sighs, "Hoseok, what's wrong?"

"I might know a way to get you a date."

"What do you mean by that?"

Hoseok finally looks him in the eye again before finally saying, "I may or not have set you up on a blind date..."

"You what?"

"Okay, listen! I set up Jeongguk on a blind date with Joon's roommate but it turns out, Jeongguk is already interested in someone else. I was going to tell Namjoon hyung and tell him about it but he had already told his friend he was setting him up and apparently he was so excited, hyung! I've met the guy myself and he's genuinely really funny, sweet and pretty. Listen, I'm sure we can cancel if we wanted to, but think about it," Hoseok explains all in one breath. Yoongi simply eyes him.
