"Talk about a dead end."
I rolled my eyes as I looked over at an amused Fenix, "This is seriously not the time," I said, looking back to the dead body in disapproval.
Fenix only shrugged, "It's actually the perfect time," she countered, basically patting herself on the back for her own joke.
I rolled my eyes yet again as I backed away from the man's pale body, "You should probably tell your girlfriend that there's a dead body in room three," I said, and even I could hear the bitchiness in my tone.
"Ex-girlfriend," Fenix emphasized again as she followed me out of the room, "And if you're jealous, just say that, Rossi."
I continued down the hall, "I'm not," I said, my tone strict and leaving no room for negotiation.
Fenix only hummed to herself, clearly not believing the words coming out of my mouth.
But I only left the topic alone—knowing that she was right and arguing about it would lead her to that annoying discovery.
The main area of the club looked as packed as ever, making it entirely hard for me and Fenix to make our way through.
I inhaled a slight breath when Fenix slid her arm back around my waist—securing me by her side as we continued through the packed crowd.
And even if I was irritated with her or the situation involving her—I didn't bother pulling out of her grip, knowing that I'd lose her in the crowd otherwise.
However, I couldn't help but look over to the familiar section, seeing the blonde woman sitting in her usual seat as she peered over at Fenix and me.
The condescending look on her face spoke volumes, but more importantly, it felt like she was challenging me.
And that was just not going to work.
I suddenly stopped in my tracks and turned to Fenix, easily forcing her brows to furrow, "What is—"
But I quickly cut her short when I pressed my lips to hers, sliding my hands up her arms to grip the back of her neck.
Fenix didn't hesitate to pull me in further by my waist—allowing her other hand to grip the side of my throat as she deepened the impulsive kiss.
I don't know what I was thinking, or if I was even thinking to begin with.
But all I could focus on was Fenix and her annoyingly soft lips.
Proving a point to that bitchy blonde woman didn't even seem to be at the center of my thoughts anymore.
Fenix nipped at my bottom lip, easily making me part my own lips for her.
I let out a content hum as her tongue slid in and out of my mouth with each kiss—forcing my grip to tighten around the back of her neck.
I swear if we weren't in a packed club, I would've let her take me right here—then again the people around us didn't even seem to matter to me.
All I could tap into was how needy Fenix was making me feel.
I let out breathless pants when Fenix finally pulled away from me.
And while all I could focus on was her swollen lips, I could also see a knowing look in her dark eyes.
"Not jealous you said?" Fenix questioned, subtly motioning her head toward the section I was looking at beforehand.
I only rolled my eyes, grabbing Fenix's hand as I turned on my heel—this was not something I wanted to unpack with Fenix right now, let alone myself.
