Ruby giggled as she ran around the small living room of their apartment. Ai watched as The small girl seemed to be enjoying herself.

Aqua was in the kitchen with (Y/n). The two boys were working on making frosting to put on cupcakes, which were in the oven already. Aqua was interested in cooking and baking so, (Y/n) decided it would be best to teach him now. Standing on a very tall stool helped him reach the top of the counter.

"Alright, add a teaspoon of vanilla, try to whisk it as best you can. I could help if you'd want."

"Yeah... I don't think my arms are strong enough to do it properly..."

Aqua muttered as he added the teaspoon filled with vanilla extract into the bowl.

"Don't say stuff like that, here why don't we both do it?"

Aqua nodded as he grabbed the whisk and began to mix the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and heated butter together. (Y/n) put one hand on top of his son's and assisted with the whisking process.

"See, you're getting the hang of it."

Ruby giggled as she seemed to not be aware of her surroundings, approaching the entrance to the kitchen.

"Mama Mama! Do you want to see my dancing?!"

Ai, smiled though seemed hesitant. Noticing the fact she was near the kitchen, she decided to try a different idea.

"Why don't you come into the living room to do it?"

Ruby shook her head as she pouted. The living room wouldn't work!

"The table will get in the way! I have a lot more space here!"

"Why don't I just move the table?"

Ai asked as she got up to move the table, but her daughter wasn't listening, and had already begun to twirl around. Now she had to admit, she had gotten much better over the few months she had been practicing. Ai began to approach her daughter to get her to stop.

"Ruby, come on, let's just do it in the living room..."

Ruby wasn't listening to her mother,, she was so focused on her dancing. Though as she just about got within arms reach of her daughter. Ruby felt her sock slip on the hardwood floor as her eyes widened. Ai's did too as she reached out, tring to catch her daughter.

"Ruby!"

Tring to keep herself for falling she moved to the left, and smacked against the stool Aqua was standing on hard. (Y/n) heard a gasp as Aqua began to lose his footing and grip on the whisk as Ruby smacked into his stool. He began to fall backwards as (Y/n) moved fast.

Ai managed at that point in time to grab Ruby but turned to see Aqua just about to fall off the stool. She didn't have time to catch him if he fell.

Aqua finally lost his footing on his stool and let out a yell as he shielded his eyes and covered his head, hoping to prevent as much injury as possible. Ai's eyes widened as she saw her son fall and tried to reach out for her son, but it was too late.

Crash

Aqua's eyes were sealed shut as he braced himself for impact. But no pain ever came, as she felt two arms wrap around him and shield him from his fall, a groan was heard under him as he opened his eyes to see (Y/n) on the ground as she shielded Aqua from the fall.

"(Y/n)!"

Ai shouted as she let go of Ruby, who she had kept on her feet as she went over to her boyfriend. She began to check up on him. Ruby stood there nervous as she took a step towards her father and brother.

"Papa..?"

"You idiot!"

Aqua shouted as he looked at his father, who, in his desperate attempt to save his son, had knocked over the stool, which had seemed to hit him in the head, he laid, unmoving for a moment. Though he pushed it off and let out another groan.

"I'm fine..."

He said as he set Aqua down on the ground, flinching as he did so. Ai opened her mouth to say something as (Y/n) put a finger to his lower back, which had taken most of the force from his fall and winced again at the touch.

"It's just a bruise..."

He said as he looked at Ruby, who seemed near tears. As she looked at his

"P-Papa..."

Aqua rounded on Ruby, ready to scream at the girl. Ai seemed worried for both her son and boyfriend. (Y/n) had abit of a stern look and his eye, something which took Ruby off guard. She had never seen that look in his eyes before.

"Ruby..."

His tone was serious and almost filled with anger, She began to shake and seemed ready to be yelled at for her actions but instead heard a sigh from her father instead.

"You need to be more careful... One of us could have been seriously hurt."

His stern tone filled Ruby with fear, her father had never taken a tone like that to either of them, even when they were in trouble, this was serious.

"I'm sorry Papa... I just..."

She managed to get up as tears began to fall down her face. (Y/n) sighed as he reached out and gently brought his daughter in for a hug.

"I'm sorry Papa!"

She cried out as she put her face into his shirt. (Y/n) smiled softly.

"I know you are... You just need to be more careful and listen to us... Okay?"

His voice was back to normal now, he understood that it was a mistake, and knew that he would get nowhere by yelling at his daughter, she would just shut down and begin to cry, which wouldn't help their situation.

Letting go of his daughter, he stood up and set the stool back up and looked at the frosting bowl, which was all fine, it wasn't brought off the counter, but the whisk laid on the floor, which needed to be cleaned up.

"Come on Aqua, let's finish this and try them... I think they'll be ready any minute."

Ai picked up the whisk after grabbing a paper towel and cleaned the floor before sighing and sent a look at Ruby.

"You're not getting any."

"Yeah... I figured...."
