As the day progressed, it did not go as smoothly as Hanni had anticipated. She left swiftly following her conversation with Haerin, having other matters to attend to, specifically Hyein and her father. Upon her arrival, Hanni slumped into her seat at the dining table, facing her father who sat at the centre while Hyein sat across from her.

“Where have you been?”

Hanni knew that her father was wise and attentive and thus refrained from attempting deceit. Instead, she answered with tact, answering his question with caution and care, stating, "Haerin was sick, I visited her." The two fell into silent contemplation as all looked upon Hanni, and her father, for answers. The soundless tension was broken when Hyein asked, "Is she doing fine?"

Hanni confirmed with a nonchalant nod, mouth full of food, replying, "Yeah, she'll be alright." Yet, despite Haerin's well-being, she was forced to return for her shift as the police force was understaffed at the moment. The reason for this was a robbery case, in which Hanni was familiar, the progress of which was lacking additional manpower. Her concern deepened as Haerin got battered with a whiff of a migraine while Hanni personally drove her to the station. Haerin had touched on throughout the lines that she'll contact Hanni first to help ease her worries.

Truthfully, Hanni's concern for Haerin's well-being wasn't of significant importance. She was well aware of Haerin's capabilities and her ability as an individual. It was not a normal occurrence for Haerin to get injured on her job so easily given how good she is at her job. But of course, the nicest- most compassionate friend Hanni was, couldn't help but worry.

Mr Pham dabbed his mouth with the cloth napkin beside his plate, a signal for the servants to clear it from the table. Afterwards, he regarded Hanni again, clearing his throat.

"You have a schedule of nothing but a join company meeting today, Hanni."

Hanni was surprised by the announcement, and her eyes darted back and forth between her father's as she struggled to process the information. "What? What for?" she asked, her confusion apparent in her tone.

Mr Pham looked at her intently and explained further. "It's a mutually beneficial opportunity for our company and a client that we work with. I want you to be there to make sure everything runs smoothly and that our company makes a good impression."

"With Min Hee-jin. Correct?"

"Yes. After this meal, we'll go directly to the company."
