- a while later -
- Moka's bedroom -Moka was perched at her desk, the soft glow of the afternoon sun illuminating her silky glasses as she scribbled away in her notebook, lost in her own world. Meanwhile, Yunah lounged on the bed, happily munching on the snacks she had picked up earlier. "So, you're telling me that you fell in love with someone you met this morning in the grocery store for all of five minutes!?" Moka exclaimed, her face a picture of confusion as she spun around to face her friend, her eyes wide with disbelief. Yunah simply nodded, a playful pout on her lips, her smile betraying the seriousness of her claim.
"Isn't that pure craziness!?" Moka added, her expression shifting from confusion to a mix of disbelief and mild disgust. It was hard for her to wrap her head around the idea of love blooming in such a fleeting encounter. Moka had always been the anti-romantic friend, content in her quiet existence filled with silence, food, sleep, and the comforting embrace of her beloved books. Unlike Yunah, who thrived on the thrill of romance and adventure, Moka cherished her routine, dreaming of nothing more than endless afternoons spent reading novels and indulging in cookies.
"That's not crazy; you just don't understand!" Yunah retorted, a hint of annoyance creeping into her voice as she pouted. "He was different—his angelic voice, those adorable freckles, and that jawline... he was perfect!" With a dramatic flourish, she threw herself back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling as she relived the enchanting memory, desperately trying to articulate the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside her. To Moka, it seemed absurd, but to Yunah, it was as if she had stumbled upon a treasure, a moment that shimmered with possibilities.
Clutching one of Moka's stuffed animals, Yunah buried her face into its soft fur, pretending it was her beloved as she sighed dreamily, completely lost in her infatuation. Moka, arms crossed and eyebrows raised, watched her friend transform into a love-struck girl, fangirling over what she deemed a fleeting crush. It was amusing yet utterly perplexing; she shook her head in disbelief, feeling a mix of exasperation and amusement. Never had she seen Yunah act this way, and though she was done with the theatrics, a part of her couldn't help but smile at the sheer joy radiating from her friend, even if it was over a mere five minutes of enchantment.
"His smile lit up my world like the first rays of dawn breaking through the darkness, and his eyes—oh, those mesmerizing eyes—made me feel as if I might sink, drown, and die in their depths," Yunah confessed, her voice barely above a whisper as she hugged the stuffed animal tighter, tucking her face into its soft fur, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over her. Yet, the words tumbled out, a secret yearning spilling forth; she simply had to share this with someone, to let the warmth of her feelings escape into the air.
"Ugh... you met him for four minutes, and you noticed all that about him?" Moka sighed, her tone a mix of disbelief and amusement. She watched as Yunah, once hiding behind the cute pink unicorn stuffed animal, now turned to her with an exaggeratedly annoyed expression, clearly not ready to let this moment slip away.
"I told you we were so close!" Yunah insisted, her pout transforming into a radiant smile as she sat up, the memory of their brief encounter flooding her with warmth. As the realization of her words sank in, her cheeks flushed a delicate pink, recalling how her heart had fluttered in that fleeting moment. "Just a few inches more, and we could've... kissed," she added, a shy smile creeping back onto her face, her heart racing at the thought.
"Why didn't you kiss him then?" Moka asked, her curiosity piqued, and Yunah shot her a serious look, eyebrows furrowing in mock seriousness.
