"I know people, they change in a day. They give out their hate and their love with the same generosity."

Voltaire.

Christmas Eve morning.

The Great Hall slowly began to empty;

filled with happy, smiling faces, eager to get home.

Two souls wandered around the castle, who no longer had a home.

Always there, always there alone.

Perched on the Astronomy tower, all day long, with no intention of getting out of there.

She had read the whole book, as ordered by Dumbledore.

All she did was leaf through and re-read the damned page.

The Chamber of Secrets.

She put the book back on the table, approaching the railing, letting her gaze get lost in the clouds...

After her morning dose of silver blood, she got out of bed very late, around 10.

"Daytime," she said as she rubbed her eyes sleepily.

Ron and Harry were sitting comfortably in the now deserted common room reading the Daily Prophet.

- Ron, I thought you were going home with your brothers-

- Seriously? With everything going on?-

He tried not to think about it as much as he could.

Harry smiled at her faintly as he leaned in and kissed her.

- Where is she?-

"On the astronomy tower, I saw her when I went to say hello to Ginny," answered Ron.

"Look, we have to sort it out," Hermione said, taking matters into her own hands

- I don't think it's the case, if she wants to be alone we have to respect her choice- Harry answered

- I agree, but, I'm afraid of her reaction, she's in disarray-

- She killed a person! How do you think she can be? It's my fault-

- No Hermione, it's all our fault-

"Especially mine," said Harry, tossing the newspaper onto the coffee table.

He decided to humour them.

-I'm going to talk to her-

Silence.

———————————————————————

One movement.

"I know you're there," she said deadly

He remained silent, approaching her.

A silence that was worth a thousand words.

He too leaned against the railing.

"Sometimes I wonder what else we'll have to face as if that weren't enough," she said despondently.

- The important thing is that next time you won't be alone-

They looked into each other's eyes.

Kaytlyn looked away, shaking her head.

- Putting a stone on it won't solve things-

He took her hand.

- It will go better -

She gave in to the discomfort, frowning, embracing him.
