Shopping. My absolute favourite.
Mum, Vadina and me will take any chance to go shopping. Like I mean come one who doesn't love a bit of shopping therapy. It is the easiest way to relieve stress.
We usually leave early in the morning, eat out and come back late at night. It's always a fun girls day out for us.
But this time everyone is coming and while I'm patient I know my brother isn't. My dad sucks it up, accepts his fate and follows my mother around like a lost puppy but my brother is very impatient and starts nagging early into the shopping process.
We haven't even started shopping yet and Abhi has started whining, like bro come on, your pregnant wife is more patient and complains less than you.
I rolled my eyes at him, annoyed at his constant yapping, "Anna, I swear to god, if you don't shut your mouth, I'm seriously going to slam your head through the wall."
He looked at me, "You're just annoyed that your to-be fiancé isn't here yet," he stuck his tongue out at me.
Ughh, god he was pissing me off. Okay maybe I was a bit agitated that Arjun and his family hadn't gotten here yet but they called and said they were about 2 minutes away which seemed to placate me but this fool isn't willing to let it go.
I pinched my nose, "I am seriously about to murder you Anna," I was tired of him.
"Ayyo, how can a police officers wife talk about murdering someone?" Keerthi akka's voice came in from behind me as she hugged me.
"Oh akka... I was just..." I was not expecting them to come this fast.
She let out a laugh, "Relax Subha, I was just kidding."
Just then from behind her athamma, mavayya, Pranavi and Vaishnav bavagaru came into the store. I greeted them all and gave them hugs, but my eyes were wandering off and searching for the one that stole my heart. Where is he?
Pranavi pulled me into a hug and whispered so only I could hear, "Vadina don't search too hard, he's parking the car he'll be here in a bit," she chuckled lightly.
I scrunched my eyes in embarrassment, was I that transparent? I released myself from Pranavi's hug and turned away to avoid her smug smile. That girl really has to stop teasing me. Or maybe you just have to stop being so obvious about everything Subha my mind chastised me.
"Shall we start shopping then?" Athamma asked, to which my mother nodded her head enthusiastically, "Yes, we have so much to get through today."
We all moved towards the sales assistant and settle down, getting ready for a long day.
------------------------
We were looking through a beautiful set of sarees and the sales assistant was explaining to us the different types of fabric.
I was so absorbed in looking through the different patterns and styles that I kind of forgot about the fact that Arjun wasn't here yet but suddenly his scent filled my nostrils and my body became aware that he was close by.
I am so attuned to him already.
"Hello everyone, sorry I'm late. It took forever to find a parking spot," my Arjun's voice filled my ears.
I excitedly turned around to see him but I restrained myself from running towards him and engulfing him in a hug. His eyes met mine for a second and I could see the same longing in his eyes. It's been less than a few hours since we last saw each other but I couldn't help but feel the need to be in his presence.
He hugged my parents and brother while side hugging pregnant Pooja Vadina. He completely ignored me. Idiot.
What is he playing at? Wait till I catch him alone, then I'll let him have it.
We continued shopping and brought a few dresses for Jhanvi for the several wedding event and a few casual sarees for me to wear after marriage. Then we moved to the next store where we brought all the mens outfit's and after left to go out to eat lunch.
We all walked towards the food court in the mall and everyone split up to get whatever they wanted. I was walking towards the back, a few steps behind Arjun. He still hasn't payed any attention to me, he was busy talking to Vaishnav bavagaru and Abhi anna. When the other two moved a little forward to join their wives, I pulled the back of Arjun's shirt and led him in the other direction.
"Oi, potti, where are you taking me," he sounded shocked.
(Potti - short)
Potti? Me? I decided not to answer him and just kept leading him on towards a quiet little space, hidden away from the rest of the crowd in the mall. I pushed him against the wall and looked at him, "Ipudu cheppu. I've been observing you since you came in, won't you even say hi to me?"
(Ipudu cheppu - Now tell me)
She questioned him with a furious look on her face.
"Ahaha, you're angry at this?" the fool had the audacity to laugh, "Damn, you're so cute when you're mad bangaram," he pulled my cheek.
I slapped his hand away, "you think this is funny?"
"Yes, I also think it is so cute how you are looking for my attention," He smiled his toothy, innocent smile.
"Whatever," I flipped my hair, "I wasn't looking for your attention," I turned away from him with a slight pout.
"Aha? Really madam?" he pulled me into his body and hugged me from behind, resting his head on my shoulder, "then why did you pull me away from everyone else?"
The butterflies in my stomach couldn't control themselves, "No reason, I just wanted to ask why you were ignoring me..."
"Baby, I wasn't ignoring you, trust me it took so much effort to not take you into my arms and run away with you. I wanted to talk to you but either dad or mavayya were talking to me and when I thought they left me, Vaishnav and Abhi stuck on to me."
I smiled at his explanation, "Aww my poor Jun, I'm sorry I snapped at you."
"It's okay bangaram, like I said, you're cute when you're mad," he kissed my cheek, "Okay, let's go back before they notice and start teasing us... again."
I quickly nodded my head, I don't want to get caught or called out by Pranavi again, I'm always embarrassing myself in front of her.

After an exhausting day, everyone managed to find something for the engagement and few of the other events. They weren't really worried too much about the actual wedding outfits or the reception outfits as they still had a bit of time left for it.
They left all of the pieces of clothing that needed to be altered or sown together with their trusted tailor and went to go have dinner.
