I Can't Stop Thinking About You

Chapter 1

EJ smiles down at her.

"What do you mean, love?"

Abigail continues looking up into his eyes trying to see if he is being honest with her.

"I'm trying to see if your being honest with me."

EJ nods his head as he holds up his hands as if he is surrendering.

"I deserve that. I know that. I deserve so much more and you can decide on my punishment later but for once I am being completely honest with you. Abigail Johanna Deveraux, you are my best friend, my soulmate, my better half or my personal favorite my partner in crime. You're the first person I think about when I wake up in the morning and the last person I think about before I fall asleep every night. Aside from the children. You have always held a very special place in my heart."

"Being with you while we were stranded here was the best thing that ever happened. It made me realize that I would be walking away from the best thing that has ever happened to me aside from Johnny being born, of course. I promise you that if you give me another chance. I swear to you that I'm going to spend the rest of my life making up for all of the mistakes that I made and hopefully after some time you can find it in your heart to forgive me?"

Abigail looks at him as she takes a deep breath before letting it out.

"You really hurt me. I'm not sure if I can or even if I should let you have another chance after everything that's happened."

EJ looks at her as he nods his head.

"You're right. I'll admit, I have made tons of
mistakes and I have been doing my best to get better but it hasn't worked. Johnny says that I haven't smiled since before you left with your mother to visit your grandmother. How is she doing? Is there any change in her condition?"

Abigail pulls back from the hug so she can grab some tissue and wipes her tears away before she crosses her arms over her chest.

"No. Her condition is still the same. The doctors and nurses are saying that we should start preparing to say goodbye."

EJ looks at her heartbroken as he opens up his arms so as to give her a hug and comfort her while she let her feelings out.

"If there's anything that I can do to help all you have to do is ask and it will be taken care of. No questions asked. Don't worry about paying it back."

Abigail looks at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Thank you, EJ. That's very sweet of you to offer but I'm not sure your fiancée would approve. She is your fiancée, isn't she?"

EJ sighs in frustration as he clenches his fists together before he takes a deep breath and lets it out. He leans in gently cupping her face with both of his hands as he stares down into her beautiful eyes.

"Yes, she is. I know that I hurt you when I told you that I was going ask Samantha to marry me. I also know that I broke the promises that we made to each other and I am deeply and truly sorry. You have to know that hurting you is the last thing that I wanted to do. If I had a chance to go back and do things differently I would do it in a heartbeat."

Abigail looks up into his eyes trying her best not to let her tears fall down her face.

"No, you wouldn't. Because, then you wouldn't have Johnny. He's much more important."
