1: Welcome Back

"We are finally removing the bandages, Mr. Yoon."

The tall man with gray hair nodded and followed the doctor inside the hospital room. The nurses carefully removed the bandages from the woman's eyes. He watched her with a mixture of anticipation and nervousness.

"You can slowly open your eyes now," the doctor instructed. The woman hesitated for a moment before slowly opening her eyes and looking at the man. His face immediately lit up as if he had just regained his life.

"How are you feeling now, Red?" he asked with a smile. The woman smiled back.

"Perfect!" she replied, blinking her eyes rapidly a few times. Her blue eyes shone in the sunlight.

"Congratulations on your new life, Ms. Stewart," the doctor said before leaving with the nurses, leaving the two of them alone in the room. The man placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and smiled, sitting beside her on the bed, his eyes wandering over her face in amusement.

"My Ruby is finally back."

Ruby playfully rolled her eyes. "You are still rolling your eyes at me after everything I did for you?"

Ruby couldn't help but smile at the man in his early twenties, pouting like an infant. "Keeho, you know you are still a baby."

"FYI, I'm 23. So technically, my birth certificate doesn't support your statement, Red."

"Everything isn't just about documents and papers. Some things can be declared based on real-life experience, like this one."

"You know you may look even more beautiful now, but you are still a meanie."

"Was that a compliment?" Ruby raised an eyebrow. Keeho took her hand and placed a gentle kiss on it, making her eyes widen.

"Yes. I wanted to say you are just a mean woman in the body of a beautiful angel."

Ruby huffed. "You sound like a hopeless romantic."

"Well, I'm a hopeless romantic for you, Red."

"So when's your press conference?" Ruby diverted the topic, feeling her cheeks hurting from all the blushing.

"I talked to appa. He said it will take another week for me to finally take over everything... you know, multiple brands and all."

"And what about Seungcheol?"

Keeho let out a mischievous chuckle. He gently patted Ruby's shiny blonde hair, golden strands slipping through his fingers.

"You are back, finally. Now we are gonna make Choi Seungcheol pay for everything he did to me, to us. I know they are so happy and content now, and Jeonghan has returned to his model career again. But this won't last long. I won't let that happen."

"Don't worry, I'm here now. The first step is already done, thanks to Aerin. You already took his wealth and property, the thing he is proud of the most. Now it's time for Seungcheol's destruction."

"And Seungcheol's biggest weakness is Yoon Jeonghan, so he's gonna suffer too."

Ruby nodded in assurance. "But let's not just talk about those now. I'm really happy you are back to your old self."

"I know. You know this one and a half year has been really hectic for me, for both of us. And I'm really thankful to you, for whatever you did."

"Anything for you. And don't worry, I've already got my payment for it."

"Did you actually take out one of my kidneys as the cost of the whole treatment?"

"Of course, duh."

Ruby looked at him wide-eyed, making him chuckle.
