Main Characters~!

I'll be starting with the designs for the characters in this fan-fic~! I will be updating with their artwork and more elaborate descriptions as I have time (and as I can manage to get Wattpad to let me put in the images, lol), so check back here periodically as I add more~!

Basil

The main character of this particular fan-fic, and Sunny's closest friend. He has kept in touch with Sunny by way of letters, saving every letter that Sunny sends him, and has come to realize that he has feelings for Sunny, but is unsure of how or even if he should approach the subject. He's struggled the last two years, including a degree of self-harm (cutting his thigh so as to leave marks in a place most might not notice), but the support of Aubrey and Polly has mostly helped him keep it together.

Basil never quite fully recovered his cheerful spirited self from his youth, and has problems talking to new people due to anxiety. He is a very loving boy who tries his best to take care of the people he's close to, but aside from Aubrey, he has troubles talking to the others, especially Hero. He has also become a bit more reclusive, and doesn't feel comfortable sharing the photos he's started taking again or the sketches he makes with his new hobby of drawing.

However, since a month ago, when he received Sunny's later proclaiming that he was visiting, Basil has become slightly more cheerful again, and is excited for Sunny to come back. Perhaps this visit from Sunny is just what Basil needs to move forward...

Sunny

The mostly silent boy returns to Faraway, two years after confessing to the accidental death of his older sister, Mari. He's kept in touch with the others through letters, especially Basil, who he wrote to once a week the entire time he was gone, even when he got sick and couldn't visit last Summer.

Having done what he could to repair and replace his violin while keeping some of the older parts, he has taken to playing it once more. Though he seems to be on a better path in life now, he is still troubled, and bringing up his sister is likely to cause him to shut down, or at least want to be alone.

While on this visit to Faraway, he stays at Basil's house, although he is a restless sleeper when not in a comfy bed, and so Basil offers his bed to Sunny while he himself sleeps on a mattress on the floor.

Holly

A new friend Sunny made in music class at his school in his new city. Though she puts up a bubbly and cheerful facade, she seems to be troubled, and is very sure to always keep her arms covered, because of scars from self-harm. She also very much does not like being touched unexpectedly, and tries to wear loose-fitting clothing to make her figure less apparent. Holly is creating a tabletop RPG akin to Dungeons and Dragons, and wants to playtest it with Sunny's friends.

The exact nature of Holly's issues are hard to pin down, and bringing them up is likely to make her violently explode. In addition, sometimes she may hold in her irritation at little things until it boils over, also leading to a potential explosion. In both scenarios, she will often feel bad later about having lashed out, and hide away from people as she mopes.

Aubrey

Another of Sunny's closest friends, now mostly cleaned up from her delinquent ways, but still harboring some aggressive tendencies, and willing to use her bat to knock some sense into anyone who dares to hurt her friends. She visits Basil often, as they were close friends in the past, and Aubrey wants to make up for having bullied him. She has also become rather close with her fellow hooligan Kim, although she has drifted a little bit from the other hooligans.

Aubrey's home life is as awful as ever, so she tries to spend as much time as possible away from home. After hearing the people at church gossip behind her back when fighting Kel and Sunny there, she feels like she doesn't belong at church anymore, and doesn't go there unless it's to visit Mari's grave, and even then only when she has someone else with her for "protection".

Kel
He's still basically Kel, although he's a bit unnerved around Basil after Sunny's confession of the truth, and hasn't really gotten around to talking about it yet, so he mostly sticks to his sports practice.

Hero
Still away at college most of the time, and hasn't really talked to the gang much since Sunny's confession. Now that he knows Mari's death wasn't a suicide, he no longer blames himself, but he harbors a bit of resentment towards Basil for the cover-up. However, Hero is mature enough not to try not to let that get in the way, and does his best to be a good friend when he is in town.

Polly
Formerly the nurse for Basil's grandma, Polly is no longer being paid by Basil's parents, and has gotten a job at Faraway High. She continues to look after Basil, and has started to become like a mother to him. Because Aubrey visits so often, she also tries to help her as well, with mixed results.
