Reneé
"Reneé?" I hear from behind me. Quickly pulling apart from Zach I see Aaron standing near my door.
"Aaron? What are you doing here?" I ask, confused as to why he is here.
"I just wanted to check up on you and make sure you're calmer now. But it appears you're busy here," he says shifting his focus to Zachariah, "With this... thing."
His face morphs into a displeasing look, before turning on his heel and walking away. What is it with these boys and not waiting for me to explain, oh my goodness.
"Give me one second Zach," I say turning to him, his gaze lingering on Aaron, eyes burning a hole into the back of his head.
"Aaron!" I say running up to him, "Wait!"
He slows his stride and turns, anger drawn over his features. He walks towards me and hugs me.
Tightly.
"What are you doing?" I question trying to break from his hold. As I continue to squirm, his grin gets tighter on my arms.
"Hugging you what does it look like, fuck!" he coughs out as I knee him in the thigh, letting go of me.
"Well don't do that, that was uncalled for," I watch as he rubs his thigh, eyes lifting to read me. "Sorry."
"Okay. You can see I'm fine now. Anything else you want to say, or did you come to declare your love for me?" I say as he leans on the wall opposite me, his tall frame towering over mine. He continues to stare down at me, a silence filling the air.
"You look different..... what did you do?" he asks, moving to lean against the wall directly beside me. His arms snake around my shoulders pushing me toward himself, and I oblige.
"Took my braids out," I say. We are greeted with silence again before the vibration of my phone breaks it.
I have an early class tomorrow so I'm gonna go. Let me know when you're not occupied I'll call you or something.
Zachariah...
"How do you know Zachariah Reneé?" Aaron asks, his grip on my shoulders loosening.
"He's my best friend, I've known him since the beginning of the year," I say, looking up at him, "Why are you jealous someone else has my attention and you don't? Loser."
Aaron smiles, his dimples creasing his face. Those gorgeous awful dimples.
"He's not competition. Could never be. And I have got you wrapped around my fingers, look at you, I took my arms of you a long time ago and you're still leaning into me." Processing his words I look at both his hands that were now in his pockets, as I lean on him completely on my own accord.
"Ew fucking creep," I say, stepping away from him and starting to walk towards my door. The girls are probably confused as to why I've been out for so long, but then again every single one of them was counting down the days til we could all hang out without the awkwardness Zach and I brought.
"Whatever freshman. I'm gonna be out for a couple of days don't miss me too much," he says, waving me off.
"I was probably not going to realize you were gone so don't worry," I reply, flipping him off and entering my room.
----------------------------------------------------------
The last couple of days went by in a blur. I wouldn't lie and say I hadn't missed Aaron, but after making up with Zachariah, that feeling was rarely felt.
