Raina's POV
I was looking out the upstairs window, waiting to see Mum and her horse, Lola, come from the bus stop. Then, I saw the black, dishy face that I knew all too well. It was Lola, and on her back was Mum. I ran downstairs and out the front door just as Mum got home, but she didn't dismount. "Why aren't you getting off, Mum?" I asked. "Sorry, Sweetie, I have to go to a meeting with the druids, but I'll tell you everything as soon as I get home." She smiled. "But you were supposed to play with me, and those meetings last for hours. It'll be dark by the time you get home!" I exclaimed, obviously upset. "I know, but you can go and play by yourself if you want, or call your Dad." She said. I nodded reluctantly. "I guess I could do that. I wish I had friends to play with, though." I frowned. She had already started to ride off, just glancing back at me to wave goodbye.
Darko's POV
I watched Carla ride off, leaving her daughter all alone, exactly how I, sorry, we, wanted her. I looked at Jessica, Sabine, and Katja, who all had sinister smirks on their faces, all of which mirrored my own. We were waiting for the right moment to strike and enact our plan. What better time than when her mother is busy at a meeting? "Do you all remember the plan?" I asked, my question being answered with a nod from the three. I started to play what Mr. Sands had told us in my head.
Flashback
We were all at HQ for a meeting, discussing ways to know what the druids were planning. "Maybe we could kidnap one of them or a family member that knows about the druids and their plans and make that person talk." I suggested. "Not a bad idea, Darko, one that might just work. Now comes the question of, who do we take?" Mr. Sands questioned. "Might I suggest the new soul rider, Carla?" Sabine asked. "No, she's too powerful. We need someone younger, weaker, like a child." Mr. Sands said. "But there are no child druids." Katja said, rolling her eyes. "Yes, but there are druids with children." Mr. Sands reminded us. "Carla has a daughter who she talks to about the meetings. Perhaps she'll do." I said. "Yes, she'll do. Don't bring her here, though. Take her to the base near Pinehill Manor. They'll be less likely to check there, mostly because they don't know about the base, just the manor." He responded. "We'll go after her tomorrow. Follow her all day until she's all alone and vulnerable." Jessica said. "One more thing. Bring her to my office in the manor so I can, get a look at her, and see what we're working with here." Mr. Sands added, an evil smirk playing on his lips. We all nodded. "Yes, sir, she'll be in your office as soon as we get her to the manor." I said. With that, we left for the main land.
Present
Raina's POV
I decided that I would go to the Forgotten Fields for some peace and quiet away from the city because I like the quiet and just being alone. I went to Jorvik Stables to get my horse, Juniper, a 5 year old grey Jorvik Pony. We bought her soon after we moved to Jorvik to 'teach me some responsibility' as Mum said when we first got her home, I only boarded her at the stables, so she was nearby. I walked through the gates only to see Herman standing with Juniper already saddled up and ready to ride. "Had a feeling you'd come here, Raina, so I got Juniper ready for you." He said with a smile. "Thanks, Herman, I... Wait, how'd you know I'd come here?" I asked. "Your mother called me and told me she had to go to a druid meeting, and well, we both knew you'd come here to see Juniper." Herman explained. I walked over to Juniper and led her over to the mounting block since I couldn't climb on without one and climbed on. I started riding when Herman called after me. "Be careful, Raina, your Mum's enemies could come after you, so just keep your eyes out." I heard the concern in his voice. "Don't worry, Herman, I will." I smiled, mostly to reassure him not actually planning on doing it, a mistake I would later regret. I walked Juniper to the city before starting to trot.
Small-time skip
I dismounted and tied Juniper to a tree nearby so that if something were to happen, I could reach her fast. I pulled out my phone, ok it was Mum's old phone but it still worked fine, and I called my dad but he didn't pick up, I assumed it was because of the time difference. I went and sat on rock to do my math homework, we were learning to do our 4, 6, and 7 times tables, I was having a hard time understanding them, though. I was writing the answer to question number 8 when someone whispered in my ear. "You have 1 minute to run." He told me.
