Chapter 8 - Sleepover (Part 3)

why do i always write these little thingies before the chapter nobody reads them anyway
rui and an are MENACES to akito (and in love with each other) in this chapter because why not
okay actually i'm stretching the sleepover arc to 4 chapters ignore what i said last chapter
we've all established that akito and emu are down fucking horrendous for each other in this fic you (the three people who are actually invested in this stupid fic) don't gotta point that out

What. The. Hell.

I was going to get up to get a glass of water, and when I look at the futon beside me, I see AKITO AND EMU CUDDLING THEMSELVES TO SLEEP. I THOUGHT THEIR RELATIONSHIP WAS PLATONIC.

Well, if they don't wake up before everyone else, it's going to be a temporary hell of teasing, for Akito at least.

I don't have time for this, I'll just get my glass of water before someone sees me writing in this.

After writing all that, Tsukasa closed his journal, hid it, and went to get his glass of water.

Akito woke up to immediately see everyone else except Tsukasa towering over him and Emu. Although he was a bit confused on where Tsukasa went, he was more embarrassed because everyone had now seen him cuddling Emu, and they weren't even dating! He just knew An and possibly Rui would never let this go now that they saw it.

"My, my, Shinonome-kun. I never expected to see you cuddling Emu."

"Yeah, Akito. Did you guys confess during the night or something?"

"Wipe those damn smirks off your faces, this is purely platonic."

Akito then sat up, leaving Emu just laying on his futon asleep.

Just after Akito did that though, Emu started waking up as well. Everyone was dead silent, since they didn't want to disturb Emu. When she woke up, he latched onto Akito again, which made Akito's face look like the average ripe tomato. It took a while for Emu to realize everyone else was watching her latch onto Akito, which prompted her to say something.

"...Hi!"

"Really Emu? Mr. Two-face is the best you can do?"

"...I go for a glass of water for five minutes and this is what I walk into?"

Everyone then turned to look at Tsukasa, who was awkwardly standing in the middle of the doorway looking very confused. He seemed to be waiting for an explanation, since he obviously had no idea what was currently going on.

"...So that's why you weren't in our futon."

"I was thirsty. Anyway, what is going on?"

"They were cuddling."

"An-chan, I saw you cuddling with Rui."

"That's different. We were just hugging. They were literally fusing together with how close they were."

"Shiraishi, your face was pinker than Emu-san's hair while you were cuddling with Kamishiro-senpai."

Akito froze for a moment. He didn't know Emu and Toya were on a first name basis! Then again, they were laughing and talking very casually with each other a couple days before this sleepover.

"Hey, how come Otori gets first name basis from you and I don't? We're a part of the same street group!"

"Yeah, why is that?"

"Oya? Shinonome-kun, are you jealous?"

"Wh- No?! I'm not jealous! I already have first name basis from Toya, I have no reason to be jealous!"

"You're being quite defensive now, are you?"

"Shut the fuck up."

"I'm still so confused."

Everyone turned to look at Tsukasa again, who had walked from the doorway to behind Nene, and wrapped his arms around her. Nene didn't seem to care, since he was just sitting there and waiting for someone to say something.

"...So what's with you guys and going insane at Akito-kun and I doing pretty much anything together?"

"Okay yeah, why is that? You guys have been acting strange recently."

Everyone in the room went dead silent when Akito and Emu both pointed that out. They were all aware that Akito and Emu were down horrendous for each other except for the people who are down horrendous for each other.

"...Well?"

"Are you guys going to say something? anything?"

Dead. Fucking. Silence.

"Okay! I think we should give you some space."

"Wait what the fuck-?"

"Tsukasa-san is right, I think you guys need to talk about something."

"Kohane-chan?"

"Enough with the yapping, let's start leaving!"

"What the shi-?"

Kohane grabbed An and Toya's wrists while Tsukasa grabbed Rui and Nene's wrists and dragged them out of the room, leaving both Akito and Emu in the room with one question lingering in their mind.

Is this the moment where I confess?
