I opened my eyes as I felt the morning sunbeam through my thin curtains. I rubbed my eyelid's gently, and stumbled to the bathroom.
I washed my face with cold water and brushed my teeth. I got changed and put my earrings in with one hand while brushing my hair with my other hand. I finished by adding my makeup, and accessories.
I shut my bedroom door behind me and walked to Miguel's room to wake him up.
"Miguel," I spoke, opening his curtains. "Get up, you don't want to be late for school."
He slowly got up, with my help forcing the sheets off him, and in response, I got a few leg kicks from him.
"Fine." He whined. He started to push my legs out of his room, grumpily. I sped- walked down the stairs, and put a piece of toast in the toaster.
While waiting for the toast to pop, I started to get a phone call from Diego.
"BEA!" He screamed.
"DIEGO!" I shouted back at him.
"Mute your friend." I heard a voice in the background of Diego's call.
"Oh fuck off, Michel," Diego said to his older brother.
"Diego. No swearing at your brother." I heard his mom say.
"Sorry."
I laughed, "So, why did you call me?"
"Ohh yeah, so basically, you know yesterday on your insta when I said I needed to tell you something?"
"Mhmm."
"Well, I wanted to tell you now before you found out at school and think that I forgot to tell you."
"Ok, so what did you want to tell me?" I asked, putting a slab of butter on my nearly-burnt toast.
"Yesterday, I sat on the plane with Tori, and when we were walking in a park after the flight and dinner, I asked her to go to prom with me and she said yes!"
"Omg!! I'm so happy for you two!" I said, clapping my hands. "I also forgot proms tonight," I said with a worried expression on my face.
"No date yet?" He asked me, raising his eyebrow.
"No." I groaned, rubbing my hands on my face.
"Oh my Lord, this kid," Diego spoke, referring to João and his actions- or the withholding of his actions.
"I can't believe he hasn't asked you yet when he kissed you in Morroco."
"Maybe he forgot?" I asked.
"No way João forgot, all around the school there are posters and shit about prom." He told me, "I guess that he's going to ask you today and procrastinate."
"I hope your right."
"Me too."
After the call with Diego, I helped Miguel get ready and got him some breakfast before hearing the familiar honk outside.
"Okay, Miguel, Alfonso's Mom, and Alfonso are going to pick you up in ten minutes so make sure you're ready in time. I have to leave so I love you." I said kissing his cheek.
"Bye, love you," he spoke, hugging me.
I opened the door and did one last wave to Miguel before I closed the door and ran to João's car.
"Hi," I told him, smiling.
"Hey," He grinned.
He looked off from me and started to wave. I glanced behind me and saw Miguel waving from the window. I beamed and waved back.
