I played with my hair, and the second the elevator doors opened, I breathed out in nervousness.

Maugi grabbed my hand, "What's going on, babe?" She asked, "Did I do something?"

I shook my head, "No, no, nothing wrong."

"Are you sure?" She asked raising her eyebrow, "You look like you've just seen a ghost."

"Positive."

We walked out of the elevator, hand in hand. But for some reason, I had a strong urge to let go of her hand.

I dropped her hand and rubbed my eye as an alibi. I put my hand back down, resting beside me.

After a second or two, Maugi hooked my arm onto hers, as we walked along the hall.

Great.

"Which box seats did you get?"

I glanced at my phone, "421."

"418, 419, 420, 421." She spoke pausing at 421.

I scanned my phone at the scanner on the door until I saw a green light.

Maugi opened the door, and glanced around, "It's a little smaller than the other ones we had before."

I rolled my eyes, "Mags, It's hard to get box seats during the World Cup."

"Yeah, I guess."

I watched Maugi sit down on the seat, and go on her phone immediately.

I sighed and sat down next to her. I glanced at her before watching the game.

"João, are there any drinks here?"

I looked behind me, "I think there's a mini fridge back there." I pointed.

"Can you get me one?"

I bit the inside of my cheek, "...Yeah."

Standing up, I walked over to the mini fridge and bent down, "Maugi, what drink do you want?"

"Champagne."

I nodded and grabbed a bottle of champagne for us. I crouched up and took two glasses from the counter. One for me, one for her. First, I poured her a glass and handed it to her.

She said nothing in response, making me frown slightly.

I poured myself a glass and sat back down, still looking at Maugi. She was still on her phone, not paying attention to me or the game.

I felt quite frustrated with her off-and-on communication and decided to just ignore the situation.

"Hey João?"

A smile appeared on my face when she recognized me.

"Yeah?"

She was still glued to her phone, "Can I invite a couple of friends? It seems a little empty in here."

My smile dropped after her question, and I nodded.

"Thank you!" She smiled.

I watched the game for a bit, but I wasn't in the mood anymore. I don't like to watch games alone in silence, since normally Maugi would watch them with me, and cheer alongside me.

I sat in silence while Maugi called some friend on the phone.

"I'm going for a walk," I told her, standing up.

She was smiling on the phone, but looked at me uninterested and nodded.

Rolling my eyes, I walked out of the room and sighed in relief when I closed the door.
