The summer house was a shell of what it once was; having been stripped down to the bare walls and floors it seemed all the joy and memories had been stripped too. "Where do we go now?" Belly asked glumly. The group seemed to think for a moment before Jeremiah spoke up, "I know a place we can crash at." Taylor and Stephen looked at each other in confusion. "What? I know places and people. Trust me."
Three melodic knocks came upon the door in a cheerful beat. "Coming!" came a soft voice, Jeremiah turned to the others with a confident smile at they all stared at him in confusion. The door opened to reveal a girl of their age in casual clothing and a book tucked under her arm. "Hi, Jere," she smiled at him fondly. "Hi, babe," he replied. "Babe?" Stephen asked Conrad in a whisper. "I'm as shocked as you are," Conrad whispered back. "Could we ask a favour? It's just we've got nowhere to stay-" Jeremiah started nervously. "You cna stay here, my parents are our of town and there's plenty of pillows and blankets," she kindly offered without even having to be asked. "Thank you," Jeremiah spoke on behalf of them all who soon chorused in on remarks of gratitude. She opened the door and they all filled in.
"So, you're the reason Jeremiah's been so happy all the time," Belly spoke, her tone not hostile as she had expected but thankful. "He's a positive person anyway," she justified. "Not normally this much of a jolly Jere," Belly laughed. "Thank you, it's been a tough year, I sure having you around really helped," Belly smiled warmly. "Hey, my two favourite girls!" came Jeremiah bounding into the room, pulling both her and Belly into a right hug. She couldn't help but laugh at his usual sweet antics, "And my favourite Fisher boy!" she said in equal amounts of happiness. "I'm offended," Conrad called from across the room making them all laugh.
