Bonus Chapter: Partners

-Some time during chapter 22-

Katakuri is seen sitting at a table in his room with a teapot and a pair of teacups. He sits patiently in silence with his eyes closed before reaching into his scarf and pulling out a pocket watch. He checks the time and lets out a sigh. He stands up and is about to pick up the cups but stops at the sound of his door opening. Entering the room is Smoothie carrying a large plate covered by a cloche and an out of breath Ryuko.

Katakuri: Ryuko, you're here.

Pixie-Bob: I'm*Pant*so sorry*Pant*I'm late*Pant*

Smoothie: I found her scuttling around the ship, trying to find your room. Honestly, if you invite someone you should give them directions.

Katakuri: Sorry.

Smoothie: Just don't let something like this happen again.

Smoothie places the plate down and exits the room, leaving the two alone.

Pixie-Bob: I can't tell if she was being nice or condescending.

Katakuri: Smoothie can be like that sometimes. Sorry for not escorting you here myself, I got caught up in something.

Pixie-Bob: No, it's alright! I overslept anyways and had to rush here and even ended up getting lost for a while! If anyone should be apologizing it should be me.

Katakuri: Perhaps we should just forget and move on.

Pixie-Bob: Yeah, you're right.

Ryuko lets out a small sigh to catch her breath before turning to the table and seeing a chair even taller than her. Intimidated by the height of the chair, she stands there looking at it before Katakuri extends a hand to her.

Katakuri: Sorry about the chair. It's made for people to reach my height.

Pixie-Bob: Uh, it's ok. With this height difference it's understandable.

Ryuko takes Katakuri's hand and he helps her up on the chair.

Katakuri: Do you want something to drink? I prepared tea, but perhaps something cooler would be better.

Pixie-Bob: Yes, please.

Katakuri nods and moves towards a fridge in the room. He takes out some ice tea and grabs two glasses. He places the glasses down on the table and pours some ice tea for Ryuko.

Katakuri: Oh, music.

Katakuri stretches his arm and reaches for a nearby music player. He presses a button and a song starts to play.

Pixie-Bob: I didn't realize you guys had music players in this world.

Katakuri: You've heard of Dials, right? This is a modified Tone Dial or "TD" for short. They store music.

Pixie-Bob: Oh, that's so cool. That's a lovely voice by the way.

Katakuri: She's the world's most famous diva. I can lend you some TDs if you'd like.

Pixie-Bob: That'd be nice, thanks.

Katakuri sits down in his chair and reaches to lift up the cloche. Before he does, he notices something that catches.

Katakuri: Your face...a scar?

Ryuko winces, much to the notice of Katakuri.

Pixie-Bob: Ugh, I thought I could hide it with my hair. I know it's not nice to look at. I usually cover it with makeup but I didn't have time to after taking a shower today.
