Hunted

Chapter 3

The house started to shake like there was an earthquake but there wasn't. Danyal ran down the stairs and sped toward me. I clutched him in my arms. 

After hearing what happened to Georgia's sister I would never let that happen to Danyal. Then there was bashing on the door screeching and scraping with claw marks coming through the door. 

The scream curtailed my bones and my stomach turned. 

All of my friends came to the back of the house near the back door. I tense up and see Mike hug Lily wrapping his arms around her before putting her in Chris's arms.

Lily started to cry.

"So do you guys happen to have a gun in your house?" Piper asked as she crossed her arms.

"No, you're not going to fight that thing, it's too dangerous!" Paige said to Piper, grabbing her shoulders and looking straight into her eyes.

"If it means you all are safe then yes I am doing that," Piper said as Mike handed her a simple shotgun and bullets. While he flexed his arms. 

The lump in my throat lifted as Piper and Mike stood their ground. Georgia led us away to the back door as she lifted her hands to do what. 

The next second her eyes closed and red steam started to come out of her hands then she lifted into the air and lines of red looking like ancient ruins swirled around our feet.

 Then we started to run. Paige turned back just as the monster broke through the door with a snake tail, no face, grey scales, and long scaly fingers and arms. 

It screamed and the flaps on its face lifted and teeth curved the flaps and the inside of the mouth. 

Piper yelled, "I will always love you be strong." 

Those were her last words as the monster slithered up to her and she turned to fire a bullet through its face. 

Mike stepped in and the fire started to sprout from his hands as he walked the monster looking back at Lily and Georgia knowing as they headed the charge running as fast as they could run. 

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I ran faster and faster. 

Thunder rumbled ahead and rain pelted us as we ran. I looked back only once to see the monster slither up its mouth opening to chomp down on Piper. 

There was a flash of lightning and blood splattered all over the ground where Piper was standing.
