"Pookie, can you help me with these boxes?" "Oh right, sorry."
I set down one of the moving boxes in the living room, reminding my new roommate and best friend Pookie to help me move in.
Her little squirrel tail twitched as she remembered her task. Los Angeles was my birth place, but my family moved to Toontown when I was a kid. Pookie was my only friend before I moved away, so I finally got the chance to return thanks to get housing offer.
"Alright, let's get this party started then
Y/n!" As energetic as ever.
We spent the better part of 2 hours unpacking my stuff, but it was all worth it to see my room come together the way it did. "Well, you relax a bit Y/n. My job starts in an hour so I gotta split, want me to put in a good word for you?" I thought for I minute before answering, "You can if you want, where do you work anyway?"
"The Ink and Paint Club about 10 minutes drive from here. I'll see what I can so." She gave me a hug and got ready to head to her work place. Now it's just me, what in the world do I even do now? Oh, I should reacquaint myself with L.A.. I pulled on my shoes and set out.So much has already changed, but the City is beautiful! My eyes danced all over the clothing stores, reveling in the exquisite designs. I used to create outfits for shows being made in Toontown, so this was a passion of mine. These places had clothes for both toons and humans, amazing! I smiled and let my tail wag behind me, blinking and winking a few times. A trait that a chinchilla like me has. I continued my adventure through the streets of L.A., picking up a cup of coffee/tea on my way.
There it is, the old flower shop Dad and I went to to buy mom flowers! I hope the old owner is still there.I walk in and heard a silver bell ring above me, announcing my entrance. I sip my drink and browse around, seeing that all the flora is still as breathtaking as it used to be. I picked up a bouquet of pink roses and baby's breath, bringing it to the register.
An old lady stood behind the counter watering a few plants, looking at me as I stopped walking. "It's good to see you again Mrs. Yearling, I don't know if you remember me but my name is Y/n Chilla."
Absolute joy filled her facial features once she heard my name. "I'd recognize that name from anywhere, my dear child it's splendid to see you come back." I handed her the bouquet and paid, afterwards sitting and having tea with her since she closed after my purchase."How are Lowis, Lucas, and Frank? I hope they are well." I sipped a bit of tea and gave her a proud look. "My Father is doing swell, 6 years after we moved my Mother passed away from an illness. Lucas is an actor now, one of the best in Toontown! He's done best in romantic and mystery productions." She chuckled after I stopped rambling, "My my, seems I've missed a lot."
"A bit yeah. I moved in with Pookie just this afternoon, if it weren't for her I'd take longer getting here.""Be safe heading home child." Mrs. Yearling warned before sending me off. She has good reason to be worried, it isn't safe to walk around alone at night. I stepped into the apartment and put the flowers in a vase, pleased with how the light made the petals shine. A big yawn escaped me as I dragged my feet to my room, I am beyond ready to sleep.
