The Hollow-Harper's Journey

Part 4

We were walking towards the house at the center of the circle at the end of the road. Reeve knocked on the door, and a woman with a creepy smile opened it. "Reeve!" she gasped. "it's been so long!"

Reeve looked uncomfortable. "Hi Adam's mom." he said. Adam's mom looked over to me.

"Is this your girlfriend?" she asked. I turned red and glanced at Reeve, who seemed to be fighting any redness that came onto his face.

"No." he said. "Just a...friend."

Adam's mom smiled. "Come inside!" she said. "Adam is in his room."

We walked inside, and went upstairs. "Is she always like that?" I asked.

"Hyper, pushy, and embarrassing?" Reeve asked. "Yes. She's one of the reasons Adam doesn't want us to come over to his house."

We headed down the hall, and Reeve knocked on the last door. "Come in." a muffled voice said.

Reeve opened the door and we found 4 kids waiting for us inside. Adam, on the bed, Mira, next to him, Kai, on the floor, and Vanessa, FLOATING IN THE AIR! I pointed to her. "Ho-how-what?"

"I guess we have to reveal our powers now instead of later, thanks Vanessa." Reeve said dryly.

"Sorry." Vanessa said, landing on the floor.

"I have fire powers. Yay, awesome." Kai said. "Adam has boring karate skills, yawn." Adam grabbed a pillow, hitting him on the head.

"I'm Mira." Mira said. "I can talk to animals and breathe underwater, and Vanessa, as yo saw, can fly."

"I can fly too!" Kai said. He stood up. "Watch."

"Not-not in here." Adam said. "I don't know how to explain to my mom how my room caught fire."

"Woah." I gasped. I turn to Reeve. "What do you have?"

"Telekinesis." he said. He out his hand in front of Adam's pillow, and lifted it up, moving his hand and his eyes turning white while he did so. "Woah."

Reeve moved his hand so the pillow was on top of Kai, and let go of it, letting it hit Kai on the head. "Ow!" he yelled.

"Nice." I said.

"What do you have?" Mira asked.

I close my eyes, weaving through my memories to the moment I picked my power. "Invisibility." I said slowly.

"Cool!" Kai said. "Try to turn invisible."

I concentrated for a minute, picturing me fading into the background until I couldn't see seen. "Aaaaand she's gone." Reeve said.

I tried to look at my hands, but couldn't see them. "This is awesome!" I exclaimed.

"We can still hear you." Mira said.

Vanessa put a hand on my head. "And feel you."

There was a knock on the door, and I made myself reappear right as the door opened.
