(A/N): Claire’s Mom’s name is Aleena.
Aleena’s POV
When Claire called explaining why she was still in California, I came up with a plan. If someone was hired to take her back home, all I had to do was hire someone else, someone better, to bring her to me. Shouldn’t be that hard.
I started my computer, and looked up ‘People that will find the person you’re looking for’ (I know, but I didn’t know what else to look up, don’t hate, appreciate.) As I scrolled through the results, something near the bottom of the page caught my eye. I clicked the link and was brought to a new webpage. It looked really professional and official. I called the number in the corner of the page.
“Hello?” A mans voice greeted me.
“Hi. Is this Shane Walker?” I asked, reading the name I found on the page.
“Yes. Who are you?”
“Aleena Bottonfield. I found your webpage—“
“Oh. You need my…help with something?”
“Yes, I do,”
“Okay. What exactly do you need my help with?”
“Bringing me my daughter. She was coming to meet me, but her friend hired someone else to grab her and bring her back to him,” I started explaining. “Shes currently in Valencia, California. I’m in Olympia, Washington. Anyway, I need you to get her, and bring her back to me,”
“Okay. Do you know the address she’s staying at?” He asked. I gave him the address of Michaels house, and he continued speaking. “Okay. Do you know the name of the guy her friend hired?”
“No, but I’m pretty sure Claire does. I can ask her,”
“And Claire is your daughters name, alright. Once you find out this guys name, text it to me,” He gave me a number, and I quickly wrote it down. Afterward, he hung up and I texted Claire, asking her the name of the guy. She responded, telling me his name was Chandler Collins. I started a new message to Shane. I told him the name, and decided to go to bed. Shane told me he was leaving for Valencia in the morning, and that he could be at her house in a matter of hours, since he was already in California.
Shanes POV
When I got the call from Aleena, I was pretty happy. I was good at finding people, but I hadn’t had a job like this in a long time. Finding out that there was already somebody else like me involved, working against me, made it all seem so much more exciting. After receiving the name of this guy, I did a search. Found out that he does the exact same thing I do, but for a shorter period of time, meaning I was more experienced. After finding out what Claire looked like, I went to bed.
*the next morning*
It was about eleven thirty, and I was currently standing outside of the house with the address Aleena had given me the night before. I had a package under my arm, and I knocked on the door. Within a matter of minutes, the door swung open to reveal another man that looked to be about twenty.
“Hello. Is Ms. Bottonfield here?” I asked.
“Why?” his eyes scanned over me, and he looked behind him, calling for someone by the name of Michael. Soon enough, another person appeared, although this boy seemed to be about seventeen or eighteen.
“What?” Michael asked, looking between me and the other man, who was Probably Chandler.
“This guy is asking for Claire,” Chandler said.
“Look, I just have a package to give her,” I said
“I can take it,” Michael responded.
“No, Claire has to sign for it,” I explained
